Joni User Info... | So I got a phone call from a friend today informing me that a there was an article on Pushing Up Daisies in yesterday's Times Colonist. Lo and behold they managed to snag nearly a full-page article all about the band's history and the show they played at the White Eagle Hall a few weeks ago. The article also brings up Lythic Blue (due to the Mount Doug connection); apparently they are now living a "rock-star lifestyle." And of course what article on the all-ages scene would be complete without a blurb on Mr. Scott Laming, "the Godfather of the all-ages scene". Anyway, it's about time somebody started giving some credit to all the talent that's out there and those who support it. Read it - it's a decent article and if you're into the all-ages thing you'll likely get a kick out of it. [+} User Info... | i found the article to be totally misrepresenting the local show crowd and the band (pushing up daisies). the article comes off (to me) as depicting a dingy youth music scene with a mediocre, fickle young rock band. at least ms. skelton put out some good promo on bands and mr. laming, but neglected to look into scott's wonderful site here and what it's done for the organization of victoria's music community, it also failed to look into pushing up daisies as an awesome band full of musical ideas that touch on many influences. it's bettter than nothing, but far from what's reality. - Thu, 8 Jul 2004 9:52pm
[+} User Info... | also props to lythic blue for making their way into the article and "superstardom" - Thu, 8 Jul 2004 9:59pm
Elliot User Info... | Now that we are ultra-famous, rich rockstars, we don't have time for the all ages scene. ps - Come see us tonight at big fernwood with Pushing Up Daisies. - Fri, 9 Jul 2004 1:27am
_Griphin_ User Info... | I just read the article, but it's not all that bad. Any PR is good PR, trust me. Yeah, LiveVic didn't get mentioned, but it has nothing to do with the band really. What the TC should do is an article about Live Victoria (c'mon, anyone could write for the TC, even me). Peace. - Fri, 9 Jul 2004 1:51am
Lythic Matt User Info... | Lay off the blow, fella. Pushing Up Daisies aren't actually playing tonight (though the show is with Kincaide, Jacob's Fall, the Hoochy Girls, and Fast Jacket). Though it would be nice if they were. - Fri, 9 Jul 2004 7:23am
