Stanley User Info... | For anyone who got to go, what did you think ? I thought it was awesome. Leeroy Stagger did a good job opening. But when The Pixies came out everyone really were syked. I have to say that they did put on a great show. It was worth the wait. TheY put on a wicked show and I know that no one was disappointed. Right up at the front we had people moshing, people swaying, jumpin up and down, screaming...ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. Got to hear all the Pixies classics, they didnt show any signs of rust. - Wed, 21 Apr 2004 9:12pm
Cheeky User Info... | I was one of the few lucky people to be right up at the gate with the band just mere feet away. I don't think I could have asked for anything better. It was an amazing show. They played all the right songs and the crowd just went wild. - Wed, 21 Apr 2004 9:37pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | Loved it. I got a little more detailed in the show review section. - Wed, 21 Apr 2004 9:42pm
Brett User Info... | I went down to try and sneak in, but when I got there I realised they were checking ticket stubs and I couldn't fake the stamp. So I had to drive home to get my old DOA ticket that looked the same. But by the time I got back to the curling club, the show was over. Weird that it ended so damn early. Oh well, I'm not the biggest pixies fan anyway, just thought it would be a fun show to see. - Wed, 21 Apr 2004 10:38pm
KnifeGhost User Info... | Cheeky, you were about 10 people away from me....... - Thu, 22 Apr 2004 11:36am
_Griphin_ User Info... | It was fuckin' amazing!!! - Sun, 25 Apr 2004 12:10am
Kris North User Info... | I can't express how amazing it was in words. Seriously radical. - Mon, 26 Apr 2004 12:48pm
lonemonk User Info... | I didn't attend, but I heard a copy of the Disclive recording. I was more curious about that aspect of the show than anything else. Since I know very little of the pixie-lore they seemed pretty standard indie/prog/edge-pop kinda thing to me. I recognized a few tracks, but... eh? Disclive did a decent job on the recording. They have 200 CD writers going once the show stops in order to provide up to 800 discs within 20 minutes. I wish I had thought of it (or could afford the gear). I had to laugh at the other shows this company has been recording: Billy Idol and Jefferson Starship are two examples, oh and the Doors reunion. I wont be striving to hear those ones no matter how well recorded they are. - Wed, 28 Apr 2004 7:22am
KnifeGhost User Info... | Lonemonk, that the Pixies sounded standard to you is probably testament to how influential they've been..... In 1987, they sounded insane..... - Wed, 28 Apr 2004 9:09am
lonemonk User Info... | You are probably correct KnifeGhost. I wasn't listening to them when they were innovating that sound, which is why I couldn't say much more about it. I'm not really that familiar with them or their history. Seemingly decent players though. - Wed, 28 Apr 2004 9:16am
