james User Info... | wjhat's the best way to get reverb if the amp doesen't have it? delay? reverb pedals? any suggetsions?, thanks - Sun, 18 Apr 2004 6:08pm
Danny Silverfish User Info... | If you want reverb, you should get a dedicated reverb pedal, though Boss does make a reverb/delay pedal.I hear the delay on it is very limited though. - Sun, 18 Apr 2004 6:45pm
Mi*coll* User Info... | Reverb sucks. don't bother. if you don't want anyone to hear you play, don't play. - Sun, 18 Apr 2004 7:04pm
[+} User Info... | i'd go the cheapest option and get a dedicated reverb pedal. delay/reverb pedals can be fun as well. but only if you want the delay. other than that you can get reverb tank... but that would be an expensive option. if you're just mingling in effects i have a multi-effects that i might be selling soon. email me if you're interested it has something like 5 types of reverbs and 3 types of delays plus MORE. KnifeGhost User Info... | It depends entirely on what kind of reverb you want...... Grainy digital shoegazer reverb? Smooth natural reverb? Different pedals can replicate different reverbs with varying success....... Check out guitargeek.com or just go to Long and McQuade and try pedals until you like one..... - Sun, 18 Apr 2004 8:25pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | I purchased a DigiTech RP80 pedal, which has Reverb and a shitload of other effects, including Chromatic tuner, for about $159 after tax. If anything, it's worth it for the tuner cause i know those go for at least that much $$$. - Sun, 18 Apr 2004 8:44pm
james User Info... | thanks for the responses, what's a dedicated reverb is that a brand? basically the most important reason i need reverb is for playing old surf rock stuff, so i guess the most vintage sounding reverb would be best, like fender twin style I guess??? - Sun, 18 Apr 2004 9:03pm
One Divided User Info... | Best way to get reverb = playing a show at the fernwood community center.. hahah - Sun, 18 Apr 2004 11:14pm
KnifeGhost User Info... | Surf? Try the Danelectro Spring King.... I've never tried it, so I don't know how it sounds.... But it's designed to sound like old-school spring reverb, and it's got a kick pad to simulate kicking your amp..... - Mon, 19 Apr 2004 1:25pm
[+} User Info... | i go for a multi-reverb pedal.. or a slap echo pedal. if you're into surf. perhaps the boss RV-5 or something along those lines. http://guitargeek.com/chat/ - Mon, 19 Apr 2004 6:36pm
Colin Sick User Info... | the meccca of reverbs is of course the holy grail from electro harmonix, nuff said - Mon, 19 Apr 2004 8:39pm
james User Info... | thanks dudes, yeah i've narrowed it down to a couple, the electro harmonix is tight, the boss rv's ones were cool too, analog delay can make that slap back right? another question if anyone knows, what are some good pickups for surf tone, like dick dale miserlou/pulpfiction? - Mon, 19 Apr 2004 9:30pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Actually if ya wanna hear a really decent example of that surf sound, login to http://www.gregkoch.com, then go to the MP3 section and find the "Surf Zep" track. I saw him play it live, without pedals (I think) using a Fender off the shelf guitar through a Fender CyberAmp and it sounded dead on, I WAS UBER STOKED!!! - Mon, 19 Apr 2004 11:40pm
andy User Info... | Got 2 reverb pedals if you want em call - Tue, 20 Apr 2004 4:29pm
laprider User Info... | I personally think you are all way off....a pedal for cool surf reverb?......my man Real reverb comes from a spring...get a hold of an old broken down amp and take out the reverb tank. Or buy an accutronics tank, or splurge and by the tolex Fender model....or you can get a lalani sp? mini reverb tank in a pedal....Colin Sic....a pedal, I'm ashamed u would offer that advice, tsk, tsk!!!!!!!!!! - Wed, 21 Apr 2004 5:32pm
[+} User Info... | the EHX holy/holier grail is an amazing pedal, and i think colin would stick by it. so would i! some spring reverbs are alright, but the versatility and reliability of a reverb pedal is better suited to the stage. - Wed, 21 Apr 2004 9:32pm
