darryl User Info... | Hey, Check out Canadian Music Week's list of bands...looks interesting, not enough B.C. artists that I recognize though. And what's the deal with NMW...is it happening? - Sun, 25 Jan 2004 12:27pm
dan r User Info... | hey, moneyshot's on there, and it says on their website that they're going to be on TSN Off the Record - Mon, 26 Jan 2004 4:26pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Moneyshot on OTR?!? Sweet! I think the reason a lot of bands from Victoria aren't on the list is cause a lot of people not from here don't know about these bands. Perhaps someone should figure out a system to familiarize publications like CMW with the caliber of talent we have. I should rack my brain about this over the next few days. - Mon, 26 Jan 2004 6:26pm
ML7Mike User Info... | How do VoiVod make it onto the indy metal band list?? Ok, well I guess there's no competeing with the band who have Jason Newstead on bass and what.. 8 albums? 10? maybe 20 world tours? He tours with Ozzy! Ok thats indy level. Well at least S.T.R.E.E.T.S. made it.. but Voivod? hardly indy even if they run their own label now, which is owned by Newstead isnt it? - Tue, 27 Jan 2004 9:43am
joe User Info... | Are they signed you idiot? Usually "indie" means independent...Pearl Jam is indie right now. - Tue, 27 Jan 2004 11:25am
69 User Info... | Indie means...not signed with a major label. You can be signed and have a deal with an indie label (a smaller and more home grown company with hopes of some day either selling to a major or becoming one...for example..Virgin Records started out indie, became huge and then eventually sold to EMI. - Tue, 27 Jan 2004 11:32am
joe User Info... | so you agree that what ML7 Mike said was stupid? - Tue, 27 Jan 2004 12:02pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | I do believe that VoiVoid is now an independant band, because there not on an major label anymore. The same holds true for bands like Loverboy and Blue Oyster Cult (I think). - Tue, 27 Jan 2004 12:07pm
ML7Mike User Info... | Ok ok whatever I thought they were on a major before or some shite. So now they have a rich guy in the band with a zillion connections and can afford to pump out their own albums and merch by the horde's.. Ok so they are indy, if you call it that. - Tue, 27 Jan 2004 1:11pm
