Message Board > General Chitchat > one killed, several injured at Death By Stereo show |
Brian VIHC User Info... | "One Virginia Tech student died and five others were injured around 10 p.m. Sunday after falling from a third-story apartment window near the Blacksburg campus. The incident happened in the 500 block of Harrell Street, in a home that had been converted into apartments. Daniel J. Martin, 19, of Emerald Isle, N.C., died at Montgomery Regional Hospital from injuries suffered in the fall. Jason Kontkanen, 21, was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, and four others were treated at Montgomery Regional Hospital. More than 50 people had gathered inside the apartment to listen to live bands. People began to dance, and some of them were pushed into a window, which broke. They fell onto a concrete patio about 20 feet below." There were some rumours going around that this was the result of a "wall of death" but someone who was actually there reported that the place was just overcrowded and some of the kids got pushed through the window. This is messed up and I'm going to put together a sympathy card at the shows this weekend and get people to sign it. Who's with me on this? - Mon, 29 Sep 2003 3:31pm | ||
