ugly and useless. looks like baby crap. no pictures, no toys. why dont those dumasses hire a better web designer, they must have enough money charging the prices they do. - Sat, 20 Sep 2003 2:36pm

I know... When I'm looking for something, I think "Why don't I go hit the shlong and mcqueer website?" thinking they might have something listed that I might want... But nope, just useless crap. The site sucks! hehe

I do believe the Long and McQuade website is done back east, but I agree too. It would be nice to have lists of guitars for sale with pictures. Perhaps there too busy down there to do something like that. - Sat, 20 Sep 2003 9:50pm

Or you could get off your lazy ass and go there... dont you want to thoroughly inspect an instrument before purchase? - Sat, 20 Sep 2003 10:04pm

Actually the list would come in handy so somebody could gauge what they have and check out the prices so I do thorough research before plunking down the cash (it's called being a smart consumer). I'm still learning, so me to be able to pull a guitar off the rack and play any riff is hard to do. Besides, I really don't like playing with the equipment down there (call me self-conscious), although I did play with a few Fender guitars this afternoon :). - Sat, 20 Sep 2003 10:09pm

GRIPHIN! I totally agree with you... I am deathly afraid of breaking stuff when I try stuff out, hehe... ALso, I'm a shitty guitar player, so, yeah... I know where you're comin from. But not just guitars, like the lines of effects, amps and recording equipment they have, with prices and stuff... not every model at every store, just the genereal ones... plus it takes me like an hour an a half to get down and back... 45 each way... Yeah. Guess this post is pretty useles. just agreeing with griphin.

L and M's website sucks. No pics, no brand names to peruse, no online account viewing abilities, I mean, E-Commerce is a cinch, and online banking is secure, so why dont L and M get with the times? Not to mention their website is the colour of puke. Hmm.. L and M could hire me in exchange for what I owe them and Id puke em out a way nicer looking site. - Mon, 22 Sep 2003 11:03am

I don't like L/M. Come to think of it, I dont like any music store. They are all depressing. And that's before you talk to the holier then thou stuck up fuckhead "I've-been playing-for-20-years-so-get-on-your-knees-and-suck-my balls" shop guys. - Wed, 24 Sep 2003 12:42am

that does not mean that teh company is good. I am not a huge fan of that store, although some of its employees don't piss me off. - Thu, 25 Sep 2003 12:34pm

The Vancouver shop guys on Granville are a bunch of cunts. One of the shop guys ( as he was walking out of the cymbal room) nailed a cymbal really hard which was about two feet away from my head and then just walked out of the cymbal room. Now this wasn't a "I'd like to hear how this cymabls sounds" - he wasn't even helping a customer, as there was no one else even in the cymbal room at the time. It was a "Let's see what this cymbal sounds like if I fucking smash it." That left me wondering: "Why did he do that?" Considering I was so hung-over that I felt like a drill bit was lodged into my head, I almost got sick in the store. It is safe to say that I would enjoy seeing him suffer immensely. - Thu, 25 Sep 2003 4:55pm

why does that sound so familiar to me... lol

I was in alloy music (langford) a few months back, looking at amps, and some guy comes in, sits down, plays the drums really loud and crappy for a minute, and then leaves. Hehe, that is still funny...
I HATE teh one on granville! we were on vacation, and I broke 2 strings, so I stopped and got a pack... It took so long to get any service in there! those buggers... hehe - Thu, 25 Sep 2003 10:52pm

Dude...EVERYBODY is like that in Van. Wayne is the bass shop there is astand-up guy.
I have always been wary of anyone trying to part me from my cash but y'know what? L&M is an ethical biz with policies radically different than most of what the states have for gear shops. No commission sales is a big one so no creepy Future shop BS. They're not there to fleece ya as that only screws them in the long run, flogging something you don't need or giving you shitty deals. No repeat buisiness=bankruptsy, especially when i can score stuff cheaper on the 'net. - Thu, 25 Sep 2003 11:09pm

Colin will be able to give the right answer, but my understanding is that L&Mers get comission....

But the Vic L&M is full of good kids.... My style it to buy obscure gear from indie shops, rather than buying new (or used) from a chain place, but the rest of my band owe their souls to L&M and I've developed a bit of an appreciation..... - Fri, 26 Sep 2003 4:52pm

Heres the scoop boys when it comes to LandM, or any other business. When you have the cash you get the service. When my friends and I walk into LandM, they (colin, graham, ron etc) treat us with the utmost respect, and never play us for fools! They have excellent service, AND i have NEVER seen a place that would give me a 1600$ trade-in value for something they have never seen.

I just finished ringing up a new 4,000$ bill with Colin. I say dude, will you take some gear off me, he says,,,"sure, is it in Mint condition?" I said yes! He wrote up the deal, gave me a 1600$ credit, and told me to bring in the gear when i have the chance!. Try doing that in the states or any other business NEVER!

I think LandM is an excellent biz!!!! - Sat, 27 Sep 2003 12:13pm

This topic is to discuss L and M's CRAPPY ASSED WEBSITE that look like it dates back to the days when everyone said "Wow a fuckin sonic speed 33.3 bps modem, and I got it for only $300!!"

The store is fine, the employees finer but the website is the color of pea mush soup thats pooped out of a baby and I cant even access my account records on it.. - Sat, 27 Sep 2003 6:53pm
