The Wolf User Info... | I remember as a child listening to my dads One Johnny Cash album- "Live at San Quentin Prison". I think every one has that one, I didn't get into him until his stuff with 1994 with Rick Rubin ...but I have bought some of his back catalog now. Gotta love his attitude :> - Fri, 12 Sep 2003 9:11am
Shawn User Info... | The Man in Black is gone. Today I am in mourning. I, likewise, did not get into him until the American Recordings. The man spaned 5 decades plus and played songs from such people as Beck, Danzig, Chris Cornell, Tom Petty, Nine Inch Nails, Paul Simon, Sting, Depeche Mode, and the Eagles, just to name a few. The world has lost a legend and a great man. - Fri, 12 Sep 2003 9:34am

Zippgunn User Info... | I've been listening to John Cash since "Ring of Fire" was a hit, and got to hear a lot of the "San Quentin" LP when my mom (and about 6 million other people) bought it when it came out. People don't realize that at about that point he was more popular than the Beatles or the Stones; a superduperstar. Dad's Juice played a wedding last night and "Ring of Fire" was on the program before we knew he had passed on; it was odd playing Cash's music on the day he died at a supposedly happy occasion but everybody there got into the spirit of the occasion and got so into it that we threw in "Cry, Cry, Cry" as well on the spur of the moment. It felt like the most appropriate tribute to the man even though it wasn't meant to be that. R.I.P. - Sat, 13 Sep 2003 12:03pm
