The Grim Reefer User Info... | I'll keep this short... Is it just me? Don't you find women to be todays heart-breakers? Where 10 years ago it was men. Hey, maybe i'm wrong, but it seems since females decided they didn't want to be house wife/mothers anymore and start being independent, career women...the tables have turned. Maybe speaking from a mans point of view i'm being selfish, but with the sex market or even just plain tv and advertising(another sex market), females have gotten this new bitch training since birth. That which ofcourse has made them stronger, which i think is positive in some ways, where in others i think they have just learned to fuck us over in stealth mode. Once again, this is a male point of view and obviously i'm going to be somewhat bias, not to mention the fact that i'm in my early 20s and 6 months ago found out my 4 year girl friend was a cheating, lying whore...the woman i swore on existance was my soulmate. So i guess you can see now where this is comming from. Any comments? - Tue, 8 Jul 2003 9:45pm
Sheelaah User Info... | still works both ways daaahlin! as many female broken hearts as there are male probably more since its not often that women beat up men! - Tue, 8 Jul 2003 10:13pm
lorralien User Info... | ya. take some advice from someone who knows. don't be with anybody longer than a few months until you've had ALL the fun you're gonna have, and then some, and have made sure that she has too. try by the time you're 27 or 28 to be with someone long term. if you be so lucky as to find a REAL woman (like me *ahem*) then, she will treat you like gold....GOLD, JERRY, GOLD. also, there are plenty of men these days that are just as fucked. men are and can still be heart-breakers. i don't think it's a bitch thing. it's an asshole thing too. (hehe...take THAT from someone who knows) - Tue, 8 Jul 2003 10:14pm

wronskian User Info... | maybe i'd break some hearts if i ever got the chance. alas the only heart i break is that of my cat, when i go away on co-op and i'm not there to snuggle with him and keep him warm at night. - Tue, 8 Jul 2003 10:34pm

Trailer Park Boy Julian User Info... | Hey this is all part of what they call the "human condition". Shit happens in life and allot of it is painful. If it's any consolation, all this heartbreak since time began has inspired allot of killer books, music, art etc. As far as women being bigger heartbreakers than men... I don't if it's possible to measure such a thing, but somehow I doubt it. I know some real sweethearts who've been treated like shit by total dicks and I know good guys who've been stomped, so it seems to me that heartbreak doesn't discriminate. I think the key with it is to learn from the experience, comeback stronger, and to drop the bitterness... 'cause things in life tend to even out. ;-) - Tue, 8 Jul 2003 11:02pm

some girl... User Info... | I believe that girls are way more vindictive than boys. Grim Reefer, I hate it when people cheat! I've never had it happen to me but I can only imagine the pain that it'd inflict. I'm sure that women are becoming bitchier--isn't that a sign of the end? I know I'M bitchier. I'm just so fucking tired of biting my tongue damn it! - Wed, 9 Jul 2003 11:15am
The Ref User Info... | Don't bite your tongue! Only makes things worse! Gotta deal with it sooner or later. - Wed, 9 Jul 2003 2:06pm
Wreaker of Havoc User Info... | The roles of men and woman have shifted drastically. Originally men and woman had equal roles that were based on survival. As agriculture became predominant as a food source and trades came into existance the roles of men and women came more defined as the need for physical strength played a large role in these new jobs. Unfortunately for women their less physical roles didnt pay $$$. After centuries of this the need for physical strength diminished for the majority of jobs but old habits die hard. Hence male domination. Now that women have proven that most jobs can be done as well by woman as men (some better), mans roll has the breadwinner has, dare I say, become extinct. The problem these days is our upbringing now has to catch up with the changing ways of the world. Women now have the choices on how to make their own living. Men on the other hand are still brought up with that dominant physically superior provider metality and have trouble fitting into their new role of...whatever it is????? Are we supposed to take care of the woman? Are we supposed to be tough? Sensitive? Should we treat women like one of the guys or like a lady? Women expect alot these days. If im supposed to wine and dine a woman on a regular basis, pay her bills, open doors for her (actually i hold the door for anyone...well except the ref)buy her shit then I expect to have my laundry folded, my dishes done, and my dinner on the freakin table when I get home!!! (all women gasp, guys cheer LOL) In reality I prefer women that work, split duties 50/50, pay their own bills and pay the bill occasionally . It makes for a good balance, no dependance and less tension. But then again Im single...... - Wed, 9 Jul 2003 3:26pm
some girl... User Info... | Wreaker: what you're refering to is basically the family economy (where everyone chipped in to survive- money wasn't the main issue: food was) vs industrialization (where survival no longer came from everyone working on the farm, rather, people going outside to get the money). Basically, what ended up happening was that women's roles were confined to the home, yet the home was no longer a source of income. So, in turn, since you can't make $ just bringing kids up women's status was diminished. That's a totally abbreviated summary of what feminists are still facing today: proper credit isn't given to housewives. Your viewpoint of strength coming into play is actually interesting but not really the main cause/I think it goes deeper than that (women have never been "equal"). But, beware--> I took some femm-ie classes a long time ago and I'll spew crap. Then again, I think that by the sounds of it you may of taken a couple classes too! (but you don't spew crap-- I do). Courtship: treating a lady like a lady is what every gentleman should do. Don't treat her like a baby, don't treat her like she's a man. She's a lady so treat her like one. The history of courtship (King Arther/medival days) steams from the belief that men are stronger than women physically yet they can put that aside and show their sentimental/soft side. I love a guy who has big strong hands that he could use to beat the shit out of me with---but he doesn't. Instead, he opens doors for me! - Wed, 9 Jul 2003 4:02pm
Sudz User Info... | Women.gotta love em! I have found a majority of the sweeties Ive dated are not heart breakers, but have past demons, they have not chosen to face yet. Of the women Ive had relationships with; Id say 75% have had dysfunctional childhoods. Be it alcoholic parent(s), divorce, sexual abuse, etc..( I sure know how to pick themhaw haw). To be fair thoughits not just women.I think we are all seeing the spawn of dysfunctional upbringing. I also find the older we get the more set we are in our own ways. Life..an interesting road! All I can offer is that you all make sure to balance your daily life with vitamins, exercise, diet, and loud, glorious METAL!!! Peace, yall.. - Wed, 9 Jul 2003 4:17pm
some girl... User Info... | I agree Sudz: it seems that families are more dysfunctional now---but I wonder if that's just because people are being more open with each other now? For example, women would never talk about spousal abuse in my mom's day b/c that's your dirty laundry and no one else's. But now with femminism a lot more "stories" are being told/put in the open. - Wed, 9 Jul 2003 4:20pm
Wreaker of Havoc User Info... | I do believe that most disfunction of families is because women arent dependant on the men they marry and men in turn do not exhibit proper responsibility in exchange for perceived defiance. Parents dont stay together anymore. Before I get jumped on I beleive this is a good thing for the long run. Good single parent families are better than bad 2 parent families but will never match up to a good 2 parent family. We are living in the chaos that will eventually settle into new roles for men and woman. Not in our lifetime though. We give children rights when they have not matured to the point where they know how to properly exercise them BUT this also gives them a voice against abuse. Women who no longer feel dependant will leave a marriage for personal reasons forsaking the family BUT now there are less women trapped in abusive relationships. Mr Hell freely tries to pick up all the metal boys in the city BUT now gay couples can now openly marry one another (all joking aside, this acceptance will surely have an impact on the M/F roles!)There are tradeoffs when it comes to change and dysfunctional families one of the tradeoffs. Return to 'traditional' families? I think not. The solution will lay with new changed roles and yes a good dose of METAL - Wed, 9 Jul 2003 4:51pm
sudz User Info... | True some girl......but how can one properly "love" another if they don't love & accept themself....... - Wed, 9 Jul 2003 5:03pm
some girl... User Info... | I think we have to becareful in assuming that the "traditional family" is the best (I'm stealing Wreaker's words). Basically, we have to be careful not to set up myths/romance about past times (1950 we great if you weren't black, gay, a women.... living in Korea). -->but how can one properly "love" another if they don't love & accept themself....... - hmmm, you are right Spudz. I can't answer this one. I do believe that more stories are being told, but unfortunatly its usually just detrimental (sp) to those involved. I mean, people are now trying to prove that they're more fucked up then everyone else, how they had it bad etc. etc but all this talk isn't doing anything but making everyone miserable. It's like I hear girls say: "I was raped by my boyfriend when I was 12" "yeah well I was raped by my uncle" "yeah well _I_ was raped by my mom".... or "I started being anorexic when I was 14" and then someone tops her with "well I started when I was 9". Really, I hear this a lot. Girls thinking that they're connecting with each other/dealing with their past but in reality they're just acting like hunger bitches. It's almost as if a lot of women don't know how to deal with the freedom that femminsim gave them. - Wed, 9 Jul 2003 5:09pm
