I just visited her memorial site, it's sad that had to happen, it reminds me of what happened to me, cept I got real lucky and survived it with minimul head trauma. In fact, I'm surprised this is the first message posted about it. In any case, I went to visit the memorial site earlier this morning, as I was heading to Pandora/Quadra, I saw 4 sets of couples that were paying respects. I left a loony cause, oddly cause Harley might need money to get to the other side (hey I thought it was cool people left 3 cigarettes, after all the spirit need smokes, just incase Harley actually smoked, yeah I know, silly huh?)

In any case, pay the site a visit and pay your respects. I wanna organize a memorial gig, cept I dunno what to do. BTW: It's interesting, the accused say they were trying to get away from a confrontation, perhaps it was an accident, but I dunno if pushing someone into traffic is a good idea. Also, if it was an accident, why would the accused run away from what happened? - Sun, 15 Feb 2009 2:33am Edited: Sun, 15 Feb 2009 2:42am

'Also, if it was an accident, why would the accused run away from what happened?'

Probably due to a lot of reasons. Shock of what just occurred, feelings of remorse/guilt, peer pressure or even just not wanting to deal with the heat that would've came about. Hate to say it, but that's a pretty normal response in today's society.

Sad that it had to happen, especially the way it happened, but I don't expect the overall populace to really learn anything from it. - Sun, 15 Feb 2009 9:13am

sad indeed. What kind of jerk shoves a girl into a bus. And knowing the justice system he wont even do any real time.

Shitty deal Nick.. wrong bus to be on. - Sun, 15 Feb 2009 2:04pm

It sucks.

Yeah, she's a person that spent a lot of time on the streets but she was always super nice and liked and I dont think putting 'homeless person' in every second sentence does her justice.

Ive spent a decent enough amount of time sleeping on the streets and spending time with most of the people that it really makes you realize how much shit they deal with on a daily basis. A lot of people from broken homes or shitty life ordeals, and its always the cleanish cut people that cause shit.

Always talking trash, starting fights, being drunk and trying to pick on people that you look down on. Chicks get it worse with the constant being hit on, creeped out, and sexually harrassed. I dont know the whole situation, but regardless if it was a homeless person pushing someone who got hit by a bus there would probably be a way bigger outcry and more chance of jail.

Its pretty sad befriending people in that community, and seeing how often they die in tragic situations. Harley was a good chick, and regardless if it was an accident or not when you push someone into traffic you should pay for your idiotic actions like anything else. - Mon, 16 Feb 2009 4:33am

Someone from Ontario mentioned it to me. Surprised CBC didn't have anything on their website, had to go the TC's website. Sick of getting my news from the lame reporting of CBC. - Mon, 16 Feb 2009 7:16am

The memorial service will be held on Friday February 20th starting at 1pm at "Our Place" at 919 Pandora. We request please no flowers, instead dontations to Our Place would be greatly appreciated. [email protected]

Last night in the sauna of crystal pool, during a debate this guy tried to use her death as an example to back up his point. It really made me angry. I was not good friends with Harley, but I did know her from way back before I moved here, her death upsets me, and people who do not even know her, or even have their facts straight using it to back up a point is so sad and trivializing. Even worse he had his facts all fucked up, he thought she had been pushed by a homeless person... Obviously I set it straight, but that does not change what happened.
and yes the memorial site is nice.
if you are going to the memorial service on friday I heard it is good to show up at 12:30 - Tue, 17 Feb 2009 1:46pm
