The Dude | Hey Folks, I was just wondering if there are any Pearl Jam bootleg collectors in the city?? or any who frequent the site. I would like to swap some shows if anyone is interested. Have a couple 2003's on the way. Regards....Andrew - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 2:16am
Anonymous | Hey Buddy, why not go out and buy like the rest of us??? If I were in Pearl Jam, I wouldn't want you as a fan... That's a contradiction in terms "Fan of Pearl Jam" and "Bootleg"! Some fucking fan! - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 9:43am
Anonymous | Pearl Jam actually encourages their fans to record and bootleg their shows, but on the honour system, ask that fans not sell them but trade with other fans. - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 11:41am
Anonymous | why pay for it if you don't have to? fuck the majors. - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 12:39pm
Anonymous | Yeah... and send the music industry even further down the tubes! It's the bands that lose too ya know! - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 12:54pm
some girl... User Info... | For the majority of times bootlegs sound aweful. Usually some guy's girlfriend is screaming about her hair while feedback/echoing etc ruins the rest of the show. I doubt there's much to worry about here. - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 12:57pm
The Dude | "Hey Buddy, why not go out and buy like the rest of us??? If I were in Pearl Jam, I wouldn't want you as a fan... That's a contradiction in terms "Fan of Pearl Jam" and "Bootleg"! Some fucking fan!".................... I guess you would be one of those uninformed people we have on this board. Do your fucking research before you open your mouth man. and you are not in Pearl Jam, and I am not your fan, and if you had your shit together you would realize that what I am trying to do is acceptable from Pearl Jam's point of view and oh yeah, you can go fuck yourself!! - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 3:47pm

Hard working peoples hard earned money. Fucking welly-street troll! - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 3:53pm
Anonymous | So if bootleg trading is a bad thing, why has Pearl Jam put every show from their 2000, and 2003 tour on CD?? and why do they encourage their fans to trade the shows? and why have they always allowed their fans to "boot" the show to trade?? and why are their fuck ass` like the guy who first responded to this? - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 3:53pm
Anonymous | Another 12 year old pimply faced thief! Fuck you and the tricycle that you rode in on!!! - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 3:59pm

Anonymous | And your foolishness is very funny stuff! - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 4:52pm
KnifeGhost User Info... | You fucking morons.... Pearl Jam has no problem with bootlegging.... Bands will do nothing but benefit when they decide to go/stay indie instead of signing with major labels... As far as I'm concerned, the collapse of the music industry will be the best thing possible for bands and music fans.... - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 8:44pm
Anonymous | That's an easy thing to say for someone that hasn't made it! If that was ever to happen, after years and years of hard work, touring, writing, recording etc...I bet you'd change your tune pretteeeee quickly! Your statement is so obviously biased, because you've got nothing to lose! - Fri, 20 Jun 2003 8:48pm
Anonymous | So does that mean Pearl Jam is fucked because the way they do business?? Wow, they are going downhill really fuckin` quick eh??! Some of you idiots just blow me away. THERE IS NO BAND WITHOUT THE FANS FUCK ASS`!!!! Look after the fans and they will look after you. The record company sure as hell isn't going to look out for the fans. - Sat, 21 Jun 2003 7:28pm
Anonymous | and what is up with the post "your life revolves around a band"?? So because someone wants to collect bootlegs his life revolves around a band? Oh my god, too funny. - Sat, 21 Jun 2003 7:30pm

chuck taylor User Info... | You people are great. Calling him a thief. I love it. Do you people drive the speed limit? I'd bet you never tasted beer until you were 21. Haha, I'm a fucking nerd, but you guys are probably worse than me. Jesus, chill. And yes, I'd trade some boots, I have plenty. Shit if that's stealing, then I'm a thief. Whatever I have to do to make my life a little easier, I'll do. Peace everyone. - Sun, 22 Jun 2003 12:23am
13PJ13 | Yeah, basically, some of you are just pretty ignorant, and I won't hold that against you. Pearl Jam does indeed release professionally mixed bootlegs of every concert, available for purchase through the website: http://www.pearljam.com. And they do indeed encourage trading among the fans. NOT re-selling, but trading. As in, "Hey, I've got the West Palm show, anyone want to trade me for the Buffalo show?"...It's a really humane way to spread the music. Anyone who wants to do any trading can come over to the Synergy message boards, also found through the above website address. There's always plenty of people around willing to trade. And to whomever said that it'll be a good thing when the music business goes under, I agree 100%, but it won't happen anytime soon, unfortunately. Because there will always be another Britney, boy band, or American Idol winner out there to sell their pulp-crap to the masses. - Sun, 22 Jun 2003 12:29am
Anonymous | FUCKIN EH!!! - Sun, 22 Jun 2003 12:35am

The Dude User Info... | and one more thing just because the bootleg thing has been brought up again....To the person who originally got his panties in a knot over all this, why don't you go down to Lyle's and ask them about all the "unauthorized" Zeppelin shows they are selling....and because I am all whooped up again...fuck you! w/ a cherry on top of course - Wed, 9 Jul 2003 1:50am
CrazyLegsMC User Info... | DUDE!!! shhhhhhh those bootlegs are mine! you cant be telling everyone about them, once ive got the money they're all mine!!!! anyways, just read this thread for the first time. some of you guys who were against "the dude" sounded pretty ridiculous and misinformed. anyways, email back dude, i wanna see if we can get some trading going on. - Wed, 9 Jul 2003 5:07am
El Rey User Info... | I love it when these fools come to the defence of record companies by saying that file sharing or bootlegging is "stealing". Cry me a fucking river. If you ask me,charging 35 bucks for a full length CD is the biggest example of highway robbery since Jesse James was robbing stagecoaches. Maybe if the money grubbing bastards hadn't fleeced us like sheep for so long and offered music at a reasonable price, they wouldn't find themselves in this mess. They're just lying in the bed they've made. Next these assholes will try telling us that driving around in an electric car or riding your bike to work is stealing from the oil companies.Bunch of Jackasses... - Thu, 10 Jul 2003 1:26am
The Dude User Info... | It's quite funny to see that all the jerk off's who originally couldn't say anything nice have disappeared now that there is a mandatory log in. - Thu, 10 Jul 2003 5:23pm
Sheelaah User Info... | hey elray what a stupid comparison riding your bike or using electric cars is stealing from the oil industry! while i agree with your defence of bootleg to some extent i also agree that when bands that have aspirations to make it big are losing money cause a: the rec companies aint payin em cause they aint makin money b:aint able to tour and take their shit out to new people becasue they aint makin money money is what spreads the musical wealth to us all! got no money you can still make your own music wanna hear someone elses for the most part ya gotta buy it support it so they can keep givin it to ya! all old shit should be free they've made their cash 1000 times over but the new bands should have the same ops to make loads a cash! if you were one of those tryin ta hit it big i think your attitude would be diff even if you say it wouldn't music is something that isn't solid its a language for all! gas is something tangeble that makes vehicles go vroom! big diff big boy! plus you sound as fanatical as these others just in the opposite way so your not any different are ya??? - Thu, 10 Jul 2003 5:34pm
underwear for the deaf User Info... | Hey Shelarf - Ever heard of spellcheck? (Just checking.) - Thu, 10 Jul 2003 7:18pm
Enid Placid User Info... | What? - Thu, 10 Jul 2003 8:58pm
El Rey User Info... | "the record companies aint able to pay cause they aint making money". Good fucking god, now I've heard everything. You obviously swallow everything the record industry tells us hook, line and sinker.Give me a break.Maybe you should quit your day job and get a job as a spokesperson defending these huge multinational companies that aren't "making any money". - Thu, 10 Jul 2003 9:27pm
underwear for the deaf User Info... | They're still making money, or course, but CD sales have been going down in the last couple of years. - Fri, 11 Jul 2003 12:32am
El Rey User Info... | Then maybe they should lower the price of CD's. With an almost 100% profit margin I think they have a little room to manouver, but like I said before, the industry is rife with greedy money grubbing types. Also, with the advent of file sharing, it would appear the consumer is asking for the ability to obtain single tracks, as opposed to buying a full legnth CD for an outragous price just to get the one or two tracks they may be looking for.Perhaps they should open their ears and listen instead of bullshitting about how their poor souls are going to the poorhouse because people are sick and tired of being ripped off.And "Sheelah", I wasnt making any comparison with the oil company thing. If you read the post more closely I think it's pretty apparent what I'm getting at. Hopefully your reading ability is better than your ability to form coherent sentences. - Fri, 11 Jul 2003 12:42am
Sheelaah User Info... | Well, thanks for the course in composition boys! I was typing on the fly and simply posted my thoughts! As for "Spell Check", no need for it. I am quite an accomplished writer. I don't know how many times I have seen horrendous writing on this site. However, I don't criticize, as I'm sure that whomever wrote it didn't care about spelling etc...just trying to get there idea across. So Fuck you! If you'd read carefully, I agreed with you for the most part and I never said that Record companies were going poor (I wouldn't really care if they did!). It's the musicians pockets that I was talking about! Look at all the artists that have fought tooth and nail to stop on-line file sharing of their tunes. Certainly not because they don't want you to have them but because it's their hard work that is being taken and they (like anyone) don't want to provide their hard work to people for free! UNDERSTANDABLE, NO! So I wasn't defending multi-national, rich companies, I was defending the rights of musicians that haven't had the good fortune to arrive on a seen that allowed them to mass produce using a medium that was safer from piracy! And "EL Wrong", I assure you that my post-secondary education well surpasses anything that you have experienced so Fuck you! Oh and did I mention... "FUCK YOU!" - Fri, 11 Jul 2003 10:02am
