The Man In White | Alright. I just got the ne Johnny cash album. What do you think? I still think he rules, but it is a starnge album even for him. I'm just looking for some reaction here. (wow! who new johnny cash could even make nine inch nails sound good?) - Sun, 10 Nov 2002 12:36am

Jo Fancy User Info... | Best Cash album, after III- Solitary Man, mainly beacause any album's other than those of the American recordings are long since out of print & the songs are all now that of countless best-of albums. In any case... Blown away once again by the absolute beauty & charm of the man in black's haggardly, some 70 year old voice & how well it has spanned the ages. I was some sceptical of the fact that he re-recorded both "give my love to rose" & Hank's "I'm so lonesome" after recorded versions by Cash have been in circulation some 50 years- both some of the best Cash songs to date. But he came through, the help of Nick Cave's charming accompanyment, though i'm not sure where they stand in comparison to the originals. I suppose they are entirly different & have their own spots in Cash history. Who gives a shit. I must say my favorite is the Sting cover "hung my head" which I had some trouble believing was writen by Sting, though it was. I can't see him pulling off saying the word "horsie" like Johhny does, but that's his problem. NIN cover- grew on me like candied cancer & now I can't help but love it to no end. Fuck this is long.... buy it. the man is dying. I miss him already. I threw in the candied cancer part just for you, Jay. - Sun, 10 Nov 2002 4:17pm
