Laprider User Info... | here I go again cough cough just what the fuck is a musician anyways my friend Dan who works 5 to 6 nights a week playing jazz or whatever making a hundred a gig and no day job to worry about, but often isn't happy or maybe jeff who slaves roofing 5 days a week but still at 43 plays lynyrd skynrd tunes with his buddies every other friday night. or maybe Annie who plays for a prestigious string Quartet travelling the world with a loaned amati violin or maybe Jay who still wheres his colors proud works at the bar but still finds time to be in average white trash or maybe Tim who used to play bass for me but now finds more success tour managing sara m or the bare naked ladies now or maybe mary who came to me at 12 yesterday and walked away now knowing her first guitar chords or Sara who has done real well is very financially secure now a mom and making a new CD or me a 20 year cronie who has pretty much done it all, been signed toured the world and now like others struggle to have people pay attention to some whiny ass singer songwriter while playing stuff I might not care for to pay my bills Point is we are all musicians no one better then the other we all share a common wanting to express something in us. Maybe we take different paths but now one path is better then the other.....sometimes i often wish i just had a regular job and played lynyrd skynyrd on weekends. no point to this just some particularily well made hash a friend sent me from back east...hahaha - Thu, 7 Nov 2002 8:34pm

ROSS B AY User Info... | Did you just call Jay a musician? Dem's fightin' woyds...... - Fri, 8 Nov 2002 11:10am
virge User Info... | i play dead dogs by forcing the air out of their lungs to make different sounds. german shepards for bass, shitzus for treble. does that make me a musician? more importantly, why is one path 'better' than another? does better mean more successful or is it something else? i think that people are generally affraid of things different so they are quick to accept ideas that are already in practice and that they can relate to easily, and less inclined to like things that force them to think. thinking being hard, and following being easy. and uhh... i think my train of thought got derailed somewhere, so.. like, uh nevermind and shit. - Fri, 8 Nov 2002 2:32pm

BillyBob | Since you're asking, I think the term 'musician' was created to make 'musicians' feel like they are special or something. Like the way 'classical musicians' say that only classically trained musicians are musicians and how Jazz School musicians are always saying that they are the real musicians... etc. It's a useless term. NOT A KILLER YET | FOR ME KEEPING MY SELF SANE OR BY NOW I WOULD HAVE KILLED YOU. - Fri, 8 Nov 2002 5:49pm
You Care? | Everyone is a musician. Sarah M. happens to be a musician that drives a Range Rover and cuts CD's where as you may be a musician that lives in Esquimalt and whistles off key while you wipe your ass. Is one less gratifying or of greater signifigance than the other? I don't think so. A musician is what you are when you aren't pretending to be yourself. - Fri, 8 Nov 2002 6:56pm
laprider | OK,,,the point I was trying to make is, everybody is always so quick to judge or knock the next guy...ie he is a shitty drummer....my point is we are all equal, record sales doesn't make you a "better" musician, nor playing classical or jazz/////we are all one in the same.....thats all I was trying to say no go practice you hack! haha - Fri, 8 Nov 2002 10:36pm
