in september I'll be going to SFU and probably live on campus. I know that once I'm there I'll inevitably absorb some culture myself. However, if my favorite local bands here are Chet, Run Chico Run and Frog Eyes and my favorite venues were the Second Story, Thursdays (logans), the fifty fifty and the late great (and smelly) teahouse, then how would I translate that to vancouver. I have heard the venue the "brickyard" is good for indie rock over there. any suggestions? - Mon, 2 Jun 2003 1:11am

patchouli junkie If you liked the Teahouse etc. then you'll want to check out the Sugar Refinery; good bands great (vegetarian) food, pretty cheap (awful PA). - Mon, 2 Jun 2003 2:00pm
Japanese Air Force Also, check out The Railway Club. It's a great little pub, nice cozy stage area, really good acts, great sound and great atmosphere.

Good luck in Vancouver.
