A*Funk | C'mon... Much as I love Radiohead (week tomorrow, baby!), THEY MAKE ENOUGH MONEY AS IS!!! Pay to see the band sometime, not to fatten the chequebook of some distribution company. If its an indy band... hey, see the show, and buy the album from them right there. Its all about paying for the music, not for the media empires it supports. - Tue, 3 Jun 2003 1:47am
ho hum | Radiohead endorsed the premature online release of their album to spite the record company that they feel has been cramping their style for so long. Major label artists don't make too much from CD sales anyway, the money goes to their labels. And I guess Radiohead don't need to please their label... in fact, their trying to get out of their contract. Oh whatever. - Tue, 3 Jun 2003 3:05am
some girl... | Thanks "The Gloamer" - I really appreciate you posting this. Do you know of other good sites to get mp3s? Please don't say Kazaa! I know of a few good sites that are basically live punk shows provided by fans, but that's basically it. (I basically want nothing to do with top 50 chart songs- like everyone else I assume). - Tue, 3 Jun 2003 12:12pm
some girl... | In response to the comment that Radiohead purposely released the cd on the net, in an attempt to get back at their record label....: The group felt that "The Gloaming" sounded "too prog-rock," however... "Hail to the Thief" struck the group members as a "more declamatory" title, and therefore more desirable. The name also refers to the fact that much of the music for the album had been stolen from the studio and spread over the Internet in early April. "People all over the world had the record before we'd even finished it," Greenwood says. "That fragments and atomizes the whole idea of a produced piece of music." ---(I just got this off of today's news). - Tue, 3 Jun 2003 5:19pm
