dan conner User Info... | Hey, I'm trying to get my band started and goin somewhere (we found a temporary drummer!). So, what equipment would I need to get started? How much would stuff cost? How could I set up a mini home recording studio to make a few audio samples, and hopefully have the samples in MP3 format, and burn some CD's of it... Any help? Thanks a ton! Anonymous | Well, first go buy 50FT of rope and get all your band members together. I think you can figure it out from there. - Mon, 26 May 2003 9:56pm
dan conner User Info... | wait... wait... its coming to me... YES! So you're saying if I make a 24' bridge between two of my band members by making an "oval" by tying the ends together, adn putting it around the backs of their necks, and making them walk out untill it is taught, then walk across it, we will go triple platinum?!? Awesome! Thanks! - Mon, 26 May 2003 9:58pm

Anonymous | If there can be a band called "belt" then there can be a band called "rope".. You can even wear a rope as a belt! So really, it's more useful. - Tue, 27 May 2003 12:13am

..... | your best bet for recording in your home is to simply pick up a "my first sony." You know the kind: it's durable for those times that your band rocks out a little too crazily, it's compact, so you can store it under your bed, it's easy to carry around (for those times that you want to make a live @ Logans album), and best of all: it will give you that classic shitty-punk quality, which covers up the fact that you can't sing, nor can you play guitar, nor can your drummer drum. Volia! - Tue, 27 May 2003 4:35pm
Anonymous | I bet your band sounds like someone shitting into a tape recorder. - Tue, 27 May 2003 9:10pm
Anonymous | I always found that the easiest way to get my band off the ground was taking away the bong. - Tue, 27 May 2003 9:19pm

Seanor User Info... | i used a 2 dollar mike and from a buck or two and my computer to record. 'course, it didnt turn out to well but i did save a bundle! - Tue, 3 Jun 2003 8:55pm
dan conner User Info... | I was actually thinking of doing something like that... Not for a real recording, but jsut get the sound down... so I don't forget... haha! But, any systems $200 and down we could use? Seems a little cheap, but whatever. Dan Conner - Tue, 3 Jun 2003 11:39pm
Virge User Info... | we tried hanging a cheap shit mic in the middle of the room and plugging it into the computer. i forget what program we used, but it actually turned out ok. keep pointing your amps in different directions to get your levels right. fucking welfare but it works. - Wed, 4 Jun 2003 12:11pm
BBJones User Info... | Any tape deck with a mic input will work for you just fine. Even better is a tape deck with recording volume control but that ain't necessary... Get any decent vocal/recording mic ($50 or less) and plug it into your tape deck. Then just experiment with mic position in the room (this is always the key to good recording sound regardless of what gear you use). Works great, is really cheap and really easy to operate. - Wed, 4 Jun 2003 1:50pm
