| Anonymous | Voivod picked up Jason Newsted as a favour to Jason Newsted. Jason wanted to be in that band. He has said in interviews from 88 how voivod is his favorite band. So I think it is absolutely beautiful that Jason has joined this great Canadian band. remember their cover of Floyds astronomy domine?? That got their name out there, even though it wasnt their tune. Since then they have done nothing but small venues. They are a true heavy metal band, working their bags off to make music and some $$$ The fact the Jason is there will definately have an impact. They promote them as the Band with Former metallica bassist now. Good for them. SInce Jason has joined, it will be like a very hard earned reward to all the hard work. They need the break. When i was 14 years old in Corner Brook NFLD, i got into a bar. That was 1990. The very first time in a bar I saw 2 bands. Voivod and See Spot Run. Cool - Tue, 6 May 2003 4:54pm | ||

| Mr. Hell User Info... | Newsted does have a noticable effect on Voivod's sound. His killer bass tone kills what Blacky had. Makes Voivod even more enjoyable for us bass players. These are the subtleties that usually only four stringers pick up on though. And that Limit show was killer! I preferred Eric Forrest to Snake. T'was a treat for Victoria that a lot of people missed out on big time. The new Voivod is mostly cool, but Snake's vocal get annoying at times as they always have. - Tue, 6 May 2003 9:03pm | ||
