I fucking hate it. I just lost my granfather last friday to Cancer of lung that was from asbestos that he used to work with in the 60's in england. I'd be fine if died of old age say like 80 years old but he was only 65 years old. Just ate him away and spread everywhere in his body. I am lucky i am got to good bye before who couldnt speak no more. He was like a father to me since i never had my dad in my life.

It is so hard, i cant believe he is gone. Tommorow is one of the hardest things i have to do and that is carry his casket to his grave. I know this isnt the best site to vent but i hope you all understand. I miss him terribly And sometimes family doesnt help Even though they try to make things better for you.

That sucks. You have my deepest condolences. I know what you are going through to a degree as I just had to burry my son this past April. He was two days shy of his second birthday when he died. While it didn't involve cancer, I can certainly identify with your loss. If you find that you aren't getting the supoprt you need from your family, I recomend that you try contacting the B.C Hospice Society through the Royal Jubilee Hospital, they have great bereavement councilors that have been great help to me and my surviving children. I wish you the best in you time of difficulty. You and your grandfather will be in my prayers.

~Witty reparte seems somewhat in appropriate given the circumstances.

Sorry to hear both stories, very sad...Cancer is defiantly a scary thing, I had a close friend pass away of melanoma, he was 26 when he died, he got skin cancer from falling asleep at Thetis lake, got a sunburn on the bottom of his feet when he was about 20. Found a lump about a year later…They took out the tumor and replaced the tissue and skin in his foot from his lat muscle in his back, When he was 24 they amputated his foot, but it was too late…it spread through his organs…I miss him so much…sun block…. especially for your kids…I’m so sorry to hear about both of your losses…Take Care. - Thu, 19 Jun 2008 3:39pm

Raw deal.
I am very angry about losing two of my grandparents to cancer. I had a friend die in hospice of cancer at the same time Jay was in there. It's an epidemic, and I often wonder why society seems to accept it and not demand action from the government on pollution, and pesticide use, etc.

Chin up dude. - Fri, 20 Jun 2008 2:12am

Its just a Harsh Disease that i wish it would go away. Very Nice Service... But i didnt like the fact the Priest had to add that my daughter will never get to know her Great Granfather. And that morning my daughter was asking to see Grandad. She is only 2 but she knows him.

Anyways. I am sorry hear your losses aswell. Its very hard to lose someone you love and i thank you for letting me know about the hospice. - Fri, 20 Jun 2008 2:42pm

Cancer is the worst. Most of my uncles have died of it, and several aunts and cousins have had it or currently are struggling with it. My mom has had it three times and she's still kickin' around.
I'm actually visiting the fam right now in humid manitoba.
I'm just waiting for mine.
Chin up. Be grateful that you had the relationship in the first place. My grandfather died from lung cancer (he was a miner) the month before I was born. I have one surviving grandparent and she's missing a breast.
I'm not trying to take away from your loss. Sorry if it sounds that way. Cancer is just fucking everywhere and it does indeed suck balls. - Fri, 27 Jun 2008 6:58pm

Moved to Van with one of ma girls...
She has been told she has irreversable blah blah...
She had the extra room, I felt like a change, and she is this beautiful wonderful stubborn person, so I thought the sneakiest way of someone being close by for her...

She seems all roses at the moment, even a work a holic...with a rad job at a movie co.

But glad to know Im there, and she's an old friend from school, we just recently re-connected...and constantly have a blast. Thought creates and we can only hope for the best.
After Jay, not sure how much more I can take.

We dont mind the vent man...and it spawned a good conversation...:) - Fri, 4 Jul 2008 9:51pm

Myself ,I am preparing for the worst for my brother has just be daignost with lymphoma .It started in his testes and went to his spine and has spread to his lungs ,the doctors don't know if they got it in time but are putting him through treatment .I try an see him in the hospital every day and he seems ok with it ,but I am sure he is holding back his emotions for us so we (the fam) don't start getting scared too. I tell him I love him and that is weird cuz we never would say that to each other be for,now its ok to, no it is always ok to tell the ones you love just that. He is only 35 and is my little bro .... it is hard to think the worst but it does not look good for him right now .So to everyone that has lost someone, you have my deepest condolences. - Thu, 17 Jul 2008 12:33pm Edited: Thu, 17 Jul 2008 12:34pm

I feel you. I lost someone who was only 40 years old from lung cancer as well. So tragic. He left his wife and 2 daughters who were not even 10. The wife fainted during the funeral and the kids didn't even no what was going on. - Mon, 18 Aug 2008 10:52am
