| jay brown User Info... | Lets be realistic here, if Bad Religion came to town and charged that kind of money.......... but they didn't cater to the punk rockers it would be o.k. But they do cater to the punks, and they try to label themselves as a punk band. Now realistically speaking they were a punk band many years ago, around the time most of you were born. They have not been a punk band, or stood for anything that punk rock is supposedley about for many years. I have absolutely no problem with a band just trying to make money, or just putting out the same album over and over again. I do have a problem with them trying to market it with a specific genre that olviously has old school ties with them, so will support them even though they have definitely changed their loyalties somewhere along the way. Lets just be honest about who and what they are now and then there wont be any issues about them charging those kind of prices. They definitely are not punk rockers anymore, really they're the Rolling Stones of the new generation. | MWPR | I think you guys are all missing the point. All "punk" bands were trying to make a living out of playing music. Any who say they aren't/weren't are lying. They may have been trying to do it their way, but the goal was always to make a living playing music. You know you'd all be more than happy to be in BR's shoes. Good for whoever is bringing BR to town, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than going to Van to see a show even at 30 bones. I personally haven't seen them so if we weren't on the road I'd most likely go; if you've seen them and don't like them, then don't go. This is as stupid as the Soundgarden slaggin that went on. Thank christ someone is making the effort to bring a bigger band over here. Maybe next time they'll bring someone who you won't get all pissy about. As for the assholes slagging kids who dare assign a band the wrong sub-genre of punk... who made you the fucking expert. Maybe Bad Religion aren't punk antmore but niether are all the other bands playing "by the numbers" punk, local or multinational.
