Powerslave User Info... | I just really needed to vent a little bit on a certain subject. First I want to say that I am not accusing anyone on this forum who are selling tickets to concerts, but in reference to especially the people who bought Tool tickets and immediately sold them at a huge mark up. Sure I am aware of how life works, the birds and the bees, and scalpers. Can anyone agree with me that if you are a true fan of a band, and got tickets, and then cannot go, at least sell the tickets at cost if the person buying them can prove either through on the spot knowledge of the band or some other source, that they are indeed fans and are worthy of the tickets? People who actually just buy tickets cause they can get pre-sales with a credit card, then mark them up to sell to true fans should be burned at the steak. Man if I could not go, and someone I knew who was a major fan couldn't afford the tickets, well DAM I would give them to the people. Party on Garth!!!! - Tue, 20 May 2008 4:43pm

Curmudgeon Rocker User Info... | hmmm - "True metal fans" and "Tool" in the same post? - Tue, 20 May 2008 8:14pm
trevor corey User Info... | For a "true fan", money is no object. Professional scalpers provide a service. If you were in Vancouver, on the afternoon of an important show you wanted to see, without a ticket, and a scalper got you a prime seat, you might not mind paying a surcharge/finder's fee. It's a free market. Try being thankful that the scalpers are there giving ticketless people hope. - Tue, 20 May 2008 11:19pm
Dr.DoomXXX User Info... | True metal fans don't listen to tool. Sorry if I'm repeating Curmudgeon's post a little bit but really, how in the rats crusty butt hole could you not know that? - Wed, 21 May 2008 4:07am
Powerslave User Info... | Ok well I only mentioned Tool because a few friends of mine were complaining mass about the amount tickets were being sold for that concert. I am aware that 'True Metal' is not Tool. How about Slayer, Maiden, Pantera, Venom, etc.....many have a different opinion on it. Obviously a few of you have been scalpers so I offended you. I agree that sure having a scalper at a sold out show is handy. I guess though in some cases greed overpowers a genuine respect and admiration for a band. Spoken like a true 'MUSIC' fan (I am sure music covers all) - Wed, 21 May 2008 3:57pm

If scalpers hadn't taken those tickets out of circulation in the first place you could just buy them at the box office... - Wed, 21 May 2008 5:41pm
trevor corey User Info... | ...not always the case. I was in Vancouver recently for a hockey game and decided to stay the night and try and catch Eddie Vedder. I contacted a "scalper". He took my cell number, and worked all afternoon to find me an excellent seat. - Wed, 21 May 2008 6:04pm

Hearse User Info... | "It's a free market." Reselling tickets without a license is illegal. - Fri, 23 May 2008 12:08pm
trevor corey User Info... | The more illegal something is, the more it is subject to "free market" economics. - Fri, 23 May 2008 3:32pm
zedius User Info... | Does that include "Free market" justice, where a bunch of shitty scalpers lose hundreds on tool tickets because they bought too many not realizing that tool fans are broke? :) I didn't go, but a friend of mine did, and she bought hers off a scalper for price 5 minutes before the show. - Fri, 23 May 2008 5:27pm
The Notorious HIV User Info... | "True metal fans don't listen to tool. " shut. the. fuck. up. saying shit like that just tells the world one thing ; your a fucking try hard. I'm a pretty big metal fan and I definitely enjoy Tool. as far as rippin people off for tickets, I agree with powerslave, but hey, whoever told you life is fair was a liar. But being "burned at the steak" sounds like a tasty way to die! - Mon, 26 May 2008 5:15pm
