can't you walk to the store though? I mean, that oil biproduct has to get turned into something, why not compact discs? Isn't it better to support the local scene by buying their discs? P2P is yet another way for these megacorporations to keep you glued to your computer, so they can bombard you with ads while they steal your personal information. Did you know that major record labels post P2P files with trojan viruses in them? And they're allowed! Maybe that's why your download PC is riddled with spyware and malware, viruses and little pops and beeps. And try finding that rare track on that import-only album. At least in cd's there's no pop-up ads and the sound quality is better than a distorted cell-phone call. Also, if it wasn't for "megacorporations" producing albums, than there wouldn't be ANY music on the internet now would there???
HMMM...

There are 2 sides to P2P, if you can't afford to buy a record that you know you'll love, than by all means download that shit. If you're poor (for some reason you can afford a PC and internet... and probably an IPOD) than the same applies. If you are some rich kid (it's not like you live in Darfur) and you wanna "save the world" just so you can save your 26$ for a half-bag on the weekend, than you can pretty much fuck yourself.

Shut down every factory that pollutes, world-wide. I wonder how long it would take for half the world to starve to death? Or maybe we could get back all those wonderful diseases if we stopped producing medicines? Though Im sure acupuncture and Raiki will fill that void. Doesn't Magic Johnson get Raiki? Change is gradual, deal with it.

Piracy helps the pirate, the energy you spend keeping your computer on for hours at a time outweighs the minimal pollution created in cd production. - Tue, 8 Apr 2008 9:36am

We'd have enough to go around if our history didn't include the extinction of so many wild animals as natural sources of food, oh and don't forget how overpopulated globally we are. Instead we're eating poison, unnatural factory farmed animals.

Or maybe we could get back all those wonderful diseases if we stopped producing medicines?
The wonderful diseases like cancer that a large bulk of civilization has caused through toxification of our planet. Meanwhile the medical industry causes as much environmental harm as any other "industry".

You are right that your computer does more damage though. Still yet your car does more, then your home, then your job. Face it: Our way of life is built off of planetary destruction and we literally have been forced into participating in something that is insane and exploitative. - Tue, 8 Apr 2008 12:18pm Edited: Tue, 8 Apr 2008 12:22pm

I got my tax return and spent like $200 on Cds in a few days. Some people would say I'm supporting the artists, others would say I'm an idiot who spent way too much money on plastic. Whatever. - Thu, 10 Apr 2008 3:38pm Edited: Thu, 10 Apr 2008 3:38pm

Alien conspiracy.
They've given just enough of the wrong technology to certain families that have sold out the human race to change the climate to a more hospitable environment for not only killing off humanity, but creating a new home for them to settle once most of us are gone.
I think the "terrorists" are on to them. - Fri, 18 Apr 2008 3:40am
