jay brown User Info... | I started playing music because I was a huge music nut. I'd sit at home and listen to my records all day, all the time. I saw other people doing it and I really wanted to be a part of it. After playing by myself for a while I tried playing with other people and it was one of the coolest feelings I've ever had. I can still remember the first stuff we played and it was total crap, but at the time it was the best music ever written and we were the biggest rock stars in the world. There arent too many things in life that are more rewarding than writing a really good piece of music. There's very few things out there that reward you just by doing it. - Fri, 14 Mar 2003 8:23pm
Anonymous | Thats sweet (no shit). I tried to write earlier that its so you can be totally annoying and in people's faces while practically forcing them to keep staring at you and applauding for the duration of your set. its a powerful feeling and a great way to dis the world. - Fri, 14 Mar 2003 8:52pm

BBJones User Info... | Two things: - Free Beer - Groupies What else do you need? Seriously, being a musician is like any other hobby, but being in a band generally has one primary motive. To play live shows. At least for me it does. Why? If you haven't done it (I mean peform publically) you probably wont' get it. Or maybe you will... it's the rush of showing your skill to strangers. Makes me feel good when I play well and is embarassing when I play poorly. if I could play live shows for a living I'd be in heaven. But, I've toured and I would call that hell ;) Bit of a problem there... Just think about taking a few people, putting them together to create something all by themselves, then go out and show what they've done to a group of friends and strangers. It's fun. No doubt about it! Not to mention, loud live music is just damn fun! Some people get thrilled from listening to music. Times that by 200 for what it's like to be the ones playing it. Dont' forget the challenge factor. When you start you suck so bad people run screaming in all directions. After years of practice, you're bearable to listen to, after a decade or more you're finally getting really good (if you didn't stop practicing). It's a never-ending life long challenge if you like that sorta thing. Oh yeah, don't forget the free beer and groupies =D - Tue, 18 Mar 2003 5:57pm
Rockbar User Info... | It's all about progress. When you're all playing around doing nothing but jamming and all of a sudden you come across something that works. Whether it's in practice or sometimes even on stage - Tue, 18 Mar 2003 6:23pm
