There are some exiting trix, but I don't know them off hand and I wouldn't want to say something that would ruin your records.
I wouldn't suggest using the blow drier, but if you just stick your record in-between two big books for a while you might have some success. Sometimes you can bend it back if it is not to warped, But be careful... - Thu, 13 Mar 2003 9:34pm
Jedi Yes, be very careful! Heat is what you need. Very controled heat. Submerged in near boiling water is the safest for the recording but hard on labels. Electric heat between 150F and 180F. Any higher and you could bind or round the grooves. Also smoothes many minor scratches and skips. Measure a flat surface or use a machinists table to press on. Dont press hard while hot. Better to let gravity do most the work. - Thu, 13 Mar 2003 10:00pm
FANG thanx... dont wanna boil labels off though... maybe ill experiment with shitty records first - Fri, 14 Mar 2003 12:47am
Anonymous maybe make a wax ring around the label, or even cover the label with wax. - Fri, 14 Mar 2003 12:53am
Anonymous what about putting a thick towel over the record...then iron the record flat...you can moderate the heat that way..and it wont scorch the vinyl. - Fri, 14 Mar 2003 12:55am

I hate to rain on your parade but in my extensive experience it is fucking impossible to unwarp vinyl. Even if you take great care the plastic changes its structure and you are left with a flat record with a lot of noise in it.The only solution to a warped record is to find a way for your turntable to play it. You may have to put a lot of weight on the tonearm and record it. Otherwise I'm afraid it's a lost cause. Sorry. - Mon, 17 Mar 2003 4:26am

Actually one extreme expedient is to tape the very edges of the record to the turntable platter and then record it. This worked for me a coupla times. - Mon, 17 Mar 2003 4:30am
