I heard a rumour that Robert Plant wrote the song "Please Read the Letter", off his new album, to your mom. That's so cool.

Boy our little town can be small at times....and how did you know it was MY Mom? Interesting....although you wouldn't be the first to ask me about this...

So you wanna know the story hey?

To answer your question:....possibly :-)

Here's a quick recap!

My Mom went to see Robert Plant in Vancouver (’88 ish?) and got his roadies to give him a package (hehehe, I said package) that she had prepared. It was filled will a Susan Seddon Boulet book (above image), other goodies, a huge letter (professing years of love) and a beautiful picture of her. Next day….while chasing limos around Vancouver……

Robert Plant apparently flew to Victoria and went to her house (she put her address in the letter to him)…..so when she arrived at her house all she saw written on her front door was: “Thanks for the book but where were you? Love Robert”

Some of this story…..is for my Mom only…..

So I’ll cut to when Robert Plant came to the Memorial Arena (refuse to call it any other name)….two years ago…..we were in the front row…. after the first song…he said ‘glad to be back in Victoria, I was here once a long time ago to visit a friend’ ….he got his roadies to bring my Mom to the side of the stage and when he was done the next song….he came over to her….they hugged, exchanged a few words…..

And that’s where I’ll leave the story!!

Just think….Robert Plant could have been my Dad! - Fri, 7 Dec 2007 10:13am
