SentencedtoBurn User Info... | I am playing (drums) at Steamers on Friday and I'm wondering what, if anything, do they have in terms of monitors on stage for drummers and is the sound setup there adequate. i ask becasue i am contemplating bringing my own P.A. specifically for my kicks (enter "buy triggers" comment here) and i dont want to lug shit over to the island unnecessarily if i dont have to. any other comments on what the sound/stage sound is like there are welcome, of all the bars in Victoria Gross Misconduct has played at, Steamers is not one of them. oh yeah, and come to the show. we'll play some new songs. thanks - Wed, 24 Oct 2007 1:53pm Edited: Wed, 24 Oct 2007 1:54pm
tom User Info... | Monitors okay (at best) for the drummer. Sound system is decent enough but if you're looking for a solid boom for your kit I'd say you'll want to bring your own PA/triggers (Gross Misconduct - I've heard your name but not your tunes....heavier music, correct?). Stage is fairly small and the room kinda crappy to get great sound in 100 percent of it (don't get me wrong there are sweet spots). If you're using your own rig, then it'll sound huge almost all the way through the room. Wish I could check you guys out, I'm playing elsewhere that evening. SentencedtoBurn User Info... | Thanks for the heads up. I see you've said monitorS, as in there is more than one monitor for the drummer alone? My concern lies primarily with my ability to hear myself on stage, more specifically my kicks. If I have at least one good drum monitor within close proximity of my kit, hopefully the sound guy can crank the shit out of my kicks so I can hear them well. im assuming the drum monitors are within a close distance of where one would set the kit up? I know the solution to all of this is getting triggers and in-ears, but I dont have the cash to do that right now. any other feedback is welcome and appreciated. thanks - Wed, 24 Oct 2007 4:13pm
tom User Info... | Sorry 'bout that typo - only one monitor for the drummer there. It's in close proximity and'll be in your left ear. If Simon is doing sound there Friday, I'm sure he'll get it right for you. Have a good show. - Wed, 24 Oct 2007 5:27pm
Joel User Info... | Hey there just wanted to say that you guys were really good! I couldn't hear the vocals during the first few songs and last song, but other than that some pretty sick technical death metal. If your wondering who I am I was the only guy who raised my hand when asked who had your CD! Come back soon, but remember to bring along First Reign and Muspellheim! - Sun, 28 Oct 2007 9:43pm
