| SoundGarden User Info... | Sorry for the delay folks. My computer crashed yesterday early afternoon and I didn't even know anything was up until, like Jay said, I got a call at 6pm from the radio station. So here's the word.... Basically it's like Jay Brown said..The building owner is embroiled in a lawsuit (as per the Business Examiner of last week) and when we had our electrical inspection done last week (prompted ONLY by the permits we took out to build the stage electrical supply -which passed code standards by the way) other infractions were found in the building and we were given a warning to fix them pronto or face action from the city. Fair enough - if they didn't get mean about things like that nothing would ever get done anywhere. Anyhow due to the situation with the owners and managers of the building the paperwork got drawn out but had been settled as of yesterday at 8am. We had things organized on our end (building and business) all required permits have been taken out, work got underway and the cheif electrical inspector is content and working with us to ensure that SoundGarden REMAINS a safe place to host shows. As for the business licence. Due to the precarious nature of dealings with the landlord, we had made arrangements with the city regarding payment of our licence and infractions resulting as a result of the licence not being paid for (those are the 'fines' everyone is talking about). Suffice it to say that they looked at our case and were working with us to get things on a positive track. This was also dealt with and put to rest yesterday before I found out anything was 'wrong'. I honestly thought that the radio station was kidding when they called me and told me the 'news'. I have since done a whole bunch of interviews, answered at least 100 phone calls and all I can say is that WE WEREN'T EVER CLOSED not for one teeny tiny second and we are in fact OpEN AND OPERATING thank you very much. Thanks to Jay for coming down and getting the other side of this fiasco - we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our patrons, our staff and the general public (no one wants to create a fearful nightclub environment). There isn't much else I can say right now - we are still looking into who said what etc... Thanks for your understanding, please come see our rockin shows this weekend and for many days to come - rest assured we are doing everything in our power to keep the club safe and to comply with any and all requests the city might have. | A Dose of The Dose | I Just Phoned The TC and they are red faced to say the least. They are sorry, and they are being critical of the mayor. The man I spoke with doesnt make the decisions, but he feels too that the TC needs to print a retraction, or apology article.
