Aidan Logins User Info... | You'll prbably need a bunch of random crap that makes sounds and something to plug them all into and put them all together. There are millions of ways to do this- what is your budget and how serious are you hoping to take this? - Mon, 9 Jul 2007 12:12am
Aidan Logins User Info... | http://victoria.craigslist.org/msg/369511602.html Check out what this guy has. Ableton is a solid program, I've heard some wickid professional production come out of Ableton. Also, the m-audio controller is handy and those things are pretty good. They're some of the cheapest midi controllers you can buy, but I know several people who use M-Audio controllers and haven't heard one complaint. The interface is pretty minimal, but it's really all you would need. and he only wants $200 for the package, which is totally reasonable. - Mon, 9 Jul 2007 10:59am
sealion User Info... | It is a good price, might be live lite though. Fruityloops or reason are good starters. There are lots of free or shareware as well. I like live it runs on most things and is easy to use for input. Or go cheap and cheesy, someone's throwaway 4 track cassette & music toys. On another level, do you want beats? Get a drum machine or software (live does it). Want abstract glitch and solder gear. Keep an eye out for keyboards with arpegiators or sequencers so you can build stuff live. Or, go moderne, an mpc100 and an electrondrum or monomachine, that's one setup I've seen locally that worked. Any of the korg etribe thingies are good as is the kaoss pad. Some people realy like behringer controllers, others don't, matter of taste not quality really. Find your own style. - Wed, 11 Jul 2007 10:10pm
