Message Board > General Chitchat > Ticket Service Charge at Lyles |
CM User Info... | Well, I guess that it was inevitable...Started on May 1st, I was told. Picked up a Wednesday Night Heroes ticket at Lyles today and paid a buck extra for the service charge. I know that they are providing a service, and they do have to pay the rent, but it was a bit of a kick in the schnuts. I think that the charge is $1 for tickets $14 and under, and $2 for tickets $15 and over. I guess that we had it pretty good for a long time, and I'll still buy my tickets there. Anyone know if Backstage Pass and Ditch are following suit? - Thu, 17 May 2007 12:45pm
Matteus User Info... | sounds more than fair. just make sure the promoters relay that info. - Thu, 17 May 2007 12:53pm
Bryn User Info... | I don't mind the service charge. I like not having to make a special trip to the bank to get cash when I buy my tickets. Also I spend a lot more on going to shows than I do on CDs, so it's cool that a business I've been going to for years is getting their share when tickets are the majority of what I buy there. - Thu, 17 May 2007 1:13pm
MindlessMikeyJay User Info... | 1 Dollar Service Charge? Better than paying a fuckin 20 dollar service charge with ticketmaster or select your tickets. - Thu, 17 May 2007 1:19pm
dumpstermesh User Info... | I bought two $25 tickets there recently and when she said, $54 total I didn't even blink. I thought it was tax or some shit. They have to make a buck for carrying the tickets too right? I'd rather see the service always available than not. - Thu, 17 May 2007 1:52pm
trevor corey User Info... | Suprised it's taken those business genuises so long to figure this one out. Think about it. Lyles must sell a couple thousand tickets per month. I don't know any small downtown business that can afford to give up a couple of thousand dollars per month in revenue. I don't think anyone will mind too much. - Thu, 17 May 2007 1:58pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | It's not a service charge, it's a processing fee! :) - Thu, 17 May 2007 6:56pm
ScottL User Info... | I think the service charge is related to the fact that they are now able to sell tickets by debit and credit cards. It ends up being the same anyway because back when you had to use cash you'd end up using the ATM there which charges a service fee of $1.50 anyway! - Fri, 18 May 2007 2:34pm
