Cheeky User Info... | Anyone know how long its taking to get your passport? I want to go to Seattle at the end of august.... - Wed, 2 May 2007 9:32pm
Matteus User Info... | Okay... *deep breath* Get on it NOW to start with. You will need your birth certificate, SIN and possibly another piece? I remember coming back a month ago and seeing those RIDICULOUS line ups on Fort St. for passports. I don't why the huge rush. I know that it will take a while for you to do it. http://canadaonline.about.com/cs/travel/a/passports.htm http://canadaonline.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=canadaonline&cdn=newsissues&tm=2&f=00&tt=2&bt=1&bts=1&zu=http%3A//www.ppt.gc.ca/forms/index.aspx%3Flang%3De Service locations - Victoria Passport Canada 5th Floor Scotiabank Building 747 Fort Street Victoria, BC Mon-Fri: 8:30 - 16:30 cheers matteus - Wed, 2 May 2007 10:25pm
The Wolf User Info... | For now Unless You are FLYING you do not need a Passport, that is changing but for now the usual is ok... - Wed, 2 May 2007 10:40pm
lonemonk User Info... | Yep, get on it NOW. You might want to visit the website as well because you can begin the whole process online and then you have less to do when you get to the office. Last time I renewed mine I went down to the office, waited for about an hour until I could even get a number!, then I went back to work carefully guessing how long it would take for the number to come. I timed it pretty good as I only had to wait about another hour until my turn came up. Things are different now though, lines are huge, and sometimes a number doesn't even get called same day, so you would never find that out unless you are in the vicinity. I don't recommend crossing the border by any means without a passport. They can turn you back for any reason they like, including they don't like the quality of your ID. I find the border patrol to be increasingly bitchy, and thats WITH a passport. - Thu, 3 May 2007 9:10am
Lucius User Info... | You can pay extra to get it within days (I think it is like $80 more). Still gotta fight the line ups but then you won't have to wait 4 months for it. Cheers, Lucius - Thu, 3 May 2007 10:20am
Haden User Info... | I just drove down to Cali and back and crossed the border with my driver's licence and birth certificate. I had no problems. Unless you are flying INTERNATIONALLY into the states, you will have no problems. According to the people I talked to when looking for ways to get to Cali, I was also told I could fly domestically once inside the states. It's just flying across the border that is a no no and you need a passport for. - Thu, 3 May 2007 2:05pm
Matteus User Info... | Traveling with out a passport is asking for all sorts of trouble. Canadian or not, you will treated as a FOREIGNER. Whether the US, Cambodia, Japan, or Thailand, I always travel with a passport. - Thu, 3 May 2007 2:27pm

evilkleg User Info... | My buddy on the mainland just told me that you can't get a rush passport anymore unless you show them plane tickets! And it takes about a month to get a regular one because of the backlog. And that doesn't include the 8 hrs you have to stand in line outside the building! - Fri, 4 May 2007 8:04pm
Name / Alias User Info... | Just went & did mine yesterday. Hell of alot less painful than I had anticipated; got there at 7:30 a.m. expecting to stand in line for 4 days, as there were already about 75 people ahead of me. I only stood in line for 30 mins. (I timed it) before a nice lady came out, & checked everyones birth certificate & gave us all a peice of paper with a number & a time to come back. Mine was for 1:00. Came back at 1:00, got another # & was outta there by 2:00. A total of 1 1/2 hours of waiting! So there! - Sat, 5 May 2007 9:47am
