The Wolf User Info... | I thought I would start a thread for persons of all ages that are beginning to learn a music instrument. A place to post questions and support. I just started Bass a few months ago and love it but find myself spending more time looking at talkbass.com and Tomleemusic.ca than practicing sometimes, is that normal? What instruments are you starting out on? and how much are you practicing? Are you self teaching or taking lessons like me? Cheers Kent - Sun, 29 Apr 2007 8:41pm Edited: Sun, 29 Apr 2007 8:44pm

Guitar Coyote User Info... | You can get a lot of good information on music websites. It might save you some time trying to figure out what makes a certain sound, or learning about theory or techniques. Check out Harmony Central's bass forum as well. Just remember that people on forums tend to get a little too obsessive about gear. You should be able to get a decent sound with a Fender or Fender-copy bass and a decent bass amp. Just remember to take a break from the forums to put in some practice time! 1-2 hours of focused practice time each day is good. Practice by trying to learn songs you really want to play- even if you can't quite play the bass part yet. - Mon, 30 Apr 2007 7:52pm
