Hey Everyone,

I may have the opportunity to put on a fundraiser for some local charities at the Event Center next month.

I'm looking for around 3 or 4 bands that would be interested in playing. I'm am obviously interested in bands that have a good following but I am also totally into supporting up and coming bands that just need some exposure and a leg up.

So ya if you are in a band or know of a band you would like to see please reply here or email me at [email protected]

Also I am looking into including some local artist. The thought being they could display their works around the venue or in a designated area. Make connections and get their stuff out there.

Just trying to put together a night of Music and Art for a good cause or two. So if you think you can help let me know.

Thanks everyone,

As far as the charities that is still getting sorted. We are going to have about 3 or so. And each person can choose(out of the three) where they want their money to go. It's still being finalized but we are open to suggestions as well.

As far as music, probably not a hardcore show. Not to say that they don't draw a crowd, it's just that I'll be putting those on later in the year. This shows focus is trying to draw the biggest range of crowd to get the maximum proceeds for the charities since it would be on a thursday night and it's around exam time for the school kids.

It's just that a spot came open and I thought it would be a great opportunity to raise some money for some local charities that could use it. Hopefully we can throw something together that will be a great time and help some people out. - Mon, 5 Mar 2007 12:32pm Edited: Mon, 5 Mar 2007 12:32pm

actually, you could make good money for the charities at even with HC bands, I see lots of 200 person hc shows here, I set up a few shows myself with huge turnouts, and You could definately with decent promotion and the right bands set up a sold out hc show there, the capacity is only 275....

Iskra
The Remanes
Mitochondrion
No Holding Back
One Drop
blood nasty
Grey Army (if ythey have a drummer)

that would probably do it....

Oh and one other suggestion for donations is street news, Janine dose so much for victoria, and she gets so little, her paper is vollunteer run, 100% recicled, uncensored, and she runs at a loss. - Tue, 6 Mar 2007 11:54pm Edited: Tue, 6 Mar 2007 11:56pm
