Indole Derivative User Info... | If a child is born dead, is it still a fetus, or is the act of giving birth techinically make it a baby? - Mon, 29 Jan 2007 1:12am
Nik Olaz User Info... | ... - Mon, 29 Jan 2007 1:44am Edited: Mon, 29 Jan 2007 1:44am
Indole Derivative User Info... | Serious, its for biology homework. I searched the net for like half an hour, "fetus baby stillborn technicality" doesnt return any relative answers... - Mon, 29 Jan 2007 11:48pm
XY-SATAN User Info... | Ahh? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stillbirth - Tue, 30 Jan 2007 12:07am
Indole Derivative User Info... | Yeah I looked at that. Says the term "stillbirth" is applied to a fetus that dies inside the womb... But thats when its inside. What about after it comes out? - Tue, 30 Jan 2007 12:18am
Shaggy User Info... | Obviously if it's dead in the womb it's dead when it's delivered, so Lance's link is correct. You should study a bit more. - Tue, 30 Jan 2007 1:06am
Indole Derivative User Info... | You should read a bit more. Let me rephrase my question; Is it a dead baby, or a dead fetus when it comes out? I know it's dead, smartass. - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 12:11pm Edited: Wed, 31 Jan 2007 12:12pm
Buddy User Info... | The point is; What difference does it make? If it's a matter of how to refer to it, I'm sure you can use whatever and people will know what you mean. - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 12:55pm
Indole Derivative User Info... | Ugh?!? ARGH! fuck... kill What difference does it make? I started a thread to find out a specific answer, I know there is little difference between the two My TEACHER. At School. Wants me to find out an answer to my smartass question. TO MAKE UP FOR AN ENTIRE ASSIGNMENT. It would have been easier to read 4 pages out of my textbook and answer a few questions. Maybe I'll just say it's still a fetus and make up some bullshit as to why, explain that a fetus becomes a baby when its lungs start operating, and it's on go-mode outside the womb world or soemthing. There, answered my question. Thanks for nothing. - Thu, 1 Feb 2007 12:55am
XY-WITHCHIPS User Info... | You're a fukin dolt , it said it right there on the link I gave you . Go do some research next time and maybe you won't have TO MAKE UP FOR AN ENTIRE ASSIGNMENT asking us . - Thu, 1 Feb 2007 2:46am
STBP User Info... | Why are you looking for help on your homework from LiveVic'ers? Questionable at best! I think a fetus is called such while it's still inside the womb. Don't know if there's a specific term for what comes out in a stillbirth. Doubt anyone hangs on to one long enough to justify a proper noun. Not much help from me, see above point. If you uncover the answer, please post it -- I'm curious now. I'm reminded of a story I heard on a psych radio show recently: a woman was disturbed by her neighbour displaying a photo of her dead, blue, stillborn child -- alongside her two kids who lived! - Thu, 1 Feb 2007 9:46am
Shaggy User Info... | Might have to spell it out for him since he seems pretty dense Lance. From Lances link, which you were obviously too lazy to even read the 1st sentence of... 'A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the womb or during labour or delivery exits its mother's body.' - Thu, 1 Feb 2007 11:42am
Mace User Info... | I think a few a points on the finer legalities and logistics-- of 'it's' existance-- might be able to resolve if it is an actual creature, documented into society and whether or not it's a bastard child; for ex.-'Shaggy' might be able to tell you what it feels like to be fatherless child, much like a stillborn does, 'cept it lasts a lifetime living as a stillborn as Shaggy's existance is or does.. Then write in your essay, as a conclusion, 'The only thing certain in life is....... 'Death & Taxes'... In which case if the Mother of all Liberal Parties could tax a foetus?- it would for the sake of making it's own personal foster child.. And there you are; more bastardized children during a Liberal regime- than anyother gov't.. BLood sucking divortion of Vampire Gov't I tells Ya!!! - Thu, 1 Feb 2007 12:12pm Edited: Thu, 1 Feb 2007 12:15pm
XY-SATAN User Info... | "The only thing certain in life is....... 'Death & Taxes'..." Yeah, and your incoherent posts! hehehe :p - Thu, 1 Feb 2007 12:39pm
Mace User Info... | Apparently, I thought I was more awake than I thought I was when I wrote that today, (which got me to thinkin' "Divortion" about something I'd written a couple of years ago in protest to 'Disclosure Laws' in BC.. You'll all think I'm a bigger asshole than I am now, but.. if that was as contorted as what I just wrote: Check this out, (WARNING* but then again, don't check it out if you're easily offended, that this could make you seriously angry..) _______________________________________________________ [Aug.4, 2004] This is so shitty, that gay people are not allowed to get a divorce!? I can't believe it... Another carte blanche law passed by the Liberal Party beyond the powers of the general public that we won't be able to vote on the issue... But I have a solution! I like the idea of getting rid of every one of these whinny ghey bitches by integrating 'Abortion and Same-sex Marriage Divorce'. We could call it 'Divortion'! Dead rotted gay-fetal of a bio-toxic bottom of the plastic garbage can- 'Divortion'. It still smells like gay-love (rotten fruit and vegetables) 'Gay love'- it has 'that' smell.... (I've always hated living next door to them- sorry I can't help it) That'll stop 'em from seperating each other... Oh, Yes, yes, YES! it will...! DIVORTION!!! While I'm at it...? I say- 'Let's ban abortion too!' (This has nothing do with being religious- because I'm not... Well except for certain instances, like rape for example) DIVORTION is KING!!! RELIGION (CHURCH + STATE) AND GAY MARRIAGE IS LAME!!! Let babies live and gay divorces' die!! ___________________________________________ Yes, I admit this writing here is 'hard to stomach', but I was angry at the Gov't over an 'F.O.I.P.P.A.' r.o.r. who for 10 and 1/2 months, said I posed a threat to national security.. So, if you can figure out a way to add that in your report on 'Still Born Babies' Indole..!? You heard of the investigation into 713 Dead Foster Kids in BC? - Thu, 1 Feb 2007 3:19pm
Aidan Logins User Info... | Actually, if you don't answer the question directly and write something like "what difference does it make?" you'll get higher marks. So long as you go on to explain why it's a stupid question and makes no difference what it's technically called... you teachers will think you have an original thought maybe, instead of just textbook answers that they're used to. I never answered a question straight in highschool and the result was most of the faculty thinking I was a genius. Which was cool cause then I got away with not doing almost all of the assignments. I'd be all "this is dumb and you know it. It doesn't even make a difference." Most teachers will let you off the hook for not doing an assignment if you think it's stupid. So long as you don't bomb tests. - Thu, 1 Feb 2007 5:54pm
Hang the DJ User Info... | Wow you had some nice teachers. Most teachers expect direct textbook answers and frown upon opinions or anything left field. I almost failed an exam once because I wrote about George Bush for my essay. - Thu, 1 Feb 2007 8:12pm
hoffa User Info... | I can't believe I got sucked into this debate, but it's just so painful to read. Check this: Fetus From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A fetus (or foetus, or fœtus) is a developing mammal or other viviparous vertebrate, after the embryonic stage and before birth. >>>>> "before birth" dead or alive I would suspect. I think the key is that fetus means inutero or still inside. Baby isn't exactly a medical term so I would expect a medical official to say "stillborn child". Long story short, there probably is no such term as "stillborn fetus". Your teacher may wish for you to distinguish beetween fetus (inutero) and infant (child outside womb). Next time just phone a clinic - Fri, 2 Feb 2007 1:51pm Edited: Fri, 2 Feb 2007 1:56pm
