Chris Logan User Info... | "Fuck ya, the guy from Jesus Lizard was great. We opened up for them back in like 90 when I was in Drone. They were fucking awesome that singer was such a weirdo" I was in a band opening for the Jesus Lizard in Montreal around the same time. I already liked Scratch Acid but hadn't heard the Lizard yet--I remember me and my buddy joking about how we were going to wipe them off the stage. So we go down to soundcheck and they're just about to do their first song--it took about ten seconds to realize that we were going to be taught an authoritative lesson on how to play the rock. Still one of the best shows I ever saw. Speaking of weirdos--Yow, the singer, was talking to us after that show (we were fawning a bit because we had been so thoroughly humiliated). He was always known to be a little mental on stage. Anyway, he tells us about this one show they played in Chicago at the end of one of their tours. Everyone's a little sick and fucked up after a few weeks on the road. Towards the end of the set Yow goes down into one of his famous squats while he's singing and drops a load in his pants. As a consummate professional he refuses to let a good opportunity go by and flings the shit out into the audience. At the end of the show he walks off stage, caked in his own shit, and the first person he meets is...his mother. Apparently the first time she ever came to one of his shows. Not drum related but a good tale, nonetheless. - Mon, 10 Feb 2003 2:00am
Chris Logan User Info... | Mac McNeilly--that was the guy's name from the Jesus Lizard. Truly a monster. - Mon, 10 Feb 2003 4:25am
Marv Pontiac | Id have to say, Denis Chambers Is one bad mofo, Kenny Clarke, Clyde Stubblefield( the J.B.'s), Zigaboo from the Meters, George Raines( Austin Texas' finest), and yeah,Dustin Shwam gets my local rock n' roll vote for sure. - Mon, 10 Feb 2003 5:06am
jk | mhcm - Mon, 10 Feb 2003 9:05pm
serendepity | As far as local drummers go, the drummer in the band "Darksell" out of Van. (sort of local??) is fucking amazing and i think the Drummer for the band Dizzy is fucking wicked and very under-rated. He plays very tight and puts on a show all himself. two of my favorites anyway. - Mon, 10 Feb 2003 9:05pm
