Laprider User Info... | weird Griphin brought this up so will I....soap box for a moment.! Christmas is fast around the corner, a time of year filled with joy for many, but dispair for many others. The financial burden for some at this time of year is simply too much. When I was waiting for the courts to force my ex wife to let me see my kid I went through a Christmas from hell, it is something I will never forget, I have always wanted to do something to pay back the single family resource center for helping me get through that time. Deciding to get off my ass this year I will act on that. I have recorded a neat version of Silent Night which I am offering to Santa's anon for their use if they choose. As well I am organizing a Victoria Songwriters Guild Xmas social, my goal is to put together a complete Christmas Hamper to make the holiday a little nicer for some family oe single Parent. I am asking if you know of anyone within the music community that may need that help to please contact me in the strictest of confidence so we can send a little cheers their way. thanks [email protected] - Mon, 20 Nov 2006 1:58pm

mica User Info... | We have a bunch of toys that our kids have outgrown as well. Like Bob the Builder, Rescue Rangers, A tool bench and a Baby change station. And some other stuff. Is there like a single parents resource center that disperses this stuff or anything? - Sat, 25 Nov 2006 3:55pm
Laprider User Info... | Yep. Single parent resource center is on Gorge right by the bus depot, they always accept donations there. - Sat, 25 Nov 2006 4:48pm
Gabri~hell User Info... | Your goodwill is going to be appreciated by someone, and might just be infectious, Laprider. Good for you. Probably the only time that you would want to boast about being "infectious," am I right? As far as the Single Parent Resource Center goes, they do accept clothing, book & toy donations there. Larger items are handled differently. They have a big "Wish List" of items that families are in need of, and then act as a middle-person and connect donors with the family. They also have a Hamper Program that helps families out around this time of year, so if you're feeling generous, I'm sure they can guide you in the right direction. The S.P.R.C. is the only one of its kind west of Ontario. I should work for their Public Relations team... - Sat, 25 Nov 2006 5:18pm
