| NOISE NOT BOMBS User Info... | My hotmail account hacked. please help. Hi. I am not happy right now. Please read and repost. I was typing e mails at the local library, and logged out to go use a payphone, returning minutes later to fina that my hotmail account has been hacked and basically blacked out. All contacts, all information, important e mails, saved files, are removed. I now have only one contact, as they e mailed me after this happened. I have chaned the passwords on all mof my accounts, luckilly my nexopia, myspace, photobucket and so were not touched. What I find stranger is the old password was some thing that meant nothing to any one but me and has no relevence to any thing in reallity, a combination of a joke, a organization and some numbers. My biggest problem however is that I have lost all my e mail contacts, as well as on my msn messenger. I have of course reported this to hotmail, and hope they may be able to retrieve some of the information. I also lost many important e mails that means weeks of work has to be re written, some e mails containing confidencial information, such as the food not bombs e mail list. Please if you were in my e mail contacts re contact me so you are back on my list, I am sure that many e mails attained from buisness ventures and actavist organizing will be permantly lost, but I would like to rebuild my networks as much as possible. This was not randome. This was a personal attack against me. Thus this leaves me to beleive it was one of a small groups of people, and may well be possible to trace. when I opened my e mail, and all the info was gone, one e mail was there, from me to myself... the e mail was left for me. here is a cut and pasted version. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ "Anarchy and gay pride ya! you fucking faggot. I am wondering how you dress, since a lot of people seem to target people dressed punk. I would love to help you find this person or group that is responsible for this since these types of things are of such disgusting acts of ignorance. | hoffa User Info... | Your password was captured. That happened to me. People I did not know started sending me replies saying no to some scam when I figured it out. I had used my account on a relative's computer in Baton Rouge when they did it, I did not log-out. Contact hotmail and give them your story. They fixed mine and I use the same password with no more baloney. Make sure you always log-out from hotmail and open and close the browser before or after visiting sites with questionable content or origin. It's a form of identity theft and plain old vandalism they were just defaming you because they discovered something about you not because of what you are or do, you could have been anyone. I use library computers, and you only get an hour a day on your account, so to save minutes, if you log out with 20 minutes left, you can logg back in later... so I definately logged out, or I couldn't have logged back in. I also distinclty remeber doing it... some one else did this, not some one in the library. Also, I did e mail hotmail, they sent me a message saying they were sorry, but they could not be sure that my hotmailmwas hacked in the first place, and there was nothing they could do. - Mon, 30 Oct 2006 11:35am | ||
