| mactac User Info... | it's for a currently established businees that has a fairly complex web-based product. We've been in business for about 6 yrs. Most of the existing code is in perl & mySql. I would consider new stuff in php, but the person would need to know perl to make changes to the old stuff. Being able to do Linux admin is a must thoough. Compensation would be based on experience, etc. Our programmer is leaving in the next 1-2 months, so we need someone to take over what he is doing fairly soon so they can get some training on what's already there. - Fri, 15 Sep 2006 1:01pm | ||

| Tim-Bitchfork User Info... | Hey I am currently am a Level 2-3 Linux Support admin from home for a company in the states that hosts about 500,000 domains on approx 400 dedicated, virtual and shared linux servers. I've been into using linux as servers for 5-6 years. I know, can compile and configure Kernels, Apache (and most mainstream modules, virtual hosting), PHP, SuPHP, Zend Optimizer, Bind (including advanced setups), MySQL, Squid, Various FTP servers, Decent amount of Exim, Some Postfix, Some Qmail, Samba and Squid. I know some Iptables, OpenBSD PF firewall, Have done some clustering using OpenSSI, familiar with Virtuozzo/OpenVZ virtualization servers and am average -> advanced at scripting (know my way around shell well) and a strong understanding of DNS. I know cpanel very well, but who cares? it's terrible. I've done some Cisco CCNA and A+, know decent amounts of network security, I've setup Awstats and Analog as statistics software for apache/squid accellerator before.
