Anyone else have experience with these? I just got a Spider 112 and just love it! A wide range of sounds and effcts built in -- presets, everything I need. Probably not a great stage amp but as a practice/fuckaround deal it's awesome.

I have noticed the guitarist in Monkey Wrench (darcy's) uses Line 6, a couple of them stacked up. Maybe it is good for gigs -- seeking any imput from anyone here.

BTW, I ordered direct from Tom Lee Music through their new keyboard outlet across from the Victoria arena -- no extra charge, and the sticker was 30% below L&M. Tom Lee is planning a big new store somewhere in the West Shore I hear, in 2007. Thank goodness, and fuck L&M! - Tue, 22 Aug 2006 9:23am

OH YEAH tom lee music right here in langford across the street from home depo/cosco and futureshop. How do i know this? Because i live right there and it will be open befor 2007 probibly for christmas. I dont know much about line 6, dont have one. But having effects on your amp is good specialy for the clean ones with chrous/flanger and delay. Really useful - Tue, 22 Aug 2006 10:59am

The spider series are great at home practice amps for sure. I have never used one in the live setting but I did own a Line6 HD147 which kicked some serious ass both live and at home. Great company for sure. The idea of playing direct into the board rather than mic'ing up is much more usefull. Cheers Lucius - Thu, 24 Aug 2006 8:58am

I have a spider II 112 @75 watts and a 120 watt Ax2 212 with the floorboard, and really enjoy them both. they both have a line out that emulates the tone you would be getting if oyu were to mike the amp, which is pretty handy for a lot of reasons. I haven't had any breakdown issues (yet) and still havent used all the features. Besides all that, they are affordable. Get a floorboard( there are several models to choose from) as it will probably further endear you to the line 6 shit. - Sat, 26 Aug 2006 11:17pm

Yeah, that's the amp I have, 112 75 watter.. do you use it on stage or at jams? With the extra 212 speakers, maybe that's enough, I don't know.. I was hoping to find a cool band as a rythm guitar player (usually a bassist), but I'd need a decent rig to pull it off I think.

There are so many possible combos of emulation/effects/delays/others, I haven't even come close to trying them all. I seem to find a new setting I like every day.

Certainly recommend the Line 6, an affordable guitar toy for sure at about $300 all in. Durability is in question I guess, only time will tell there. That wasn't an issue in any of the product reviews I found online. - Sun, 27 Aug 2006 10:45am Edited: Sun, 27 Aug 2006 10:46am

I've used the spider at casual jam shit and although it's clear over the drumming, it lacks the tone due to the one speaker and small cabinet. The AX2-212 is a two 12 inch speaker combo that is much better at louder volumes. It's comfortable in a jam, but I wouldn't use it alone on a stage, depending on the music you play. Incidentally, the amount of effects AND the control over them is much greater on the higher end models. AX2 is no longer produced, but the Vetta series is its evolution. - Mon, 28 Aug 2006 12:40am Edited: Mon, 28 Aug 2006 12:43am

From my experience with Line 6 I can say I don't like their distortions, they sound too much like a cheap zoom pedal, really digital like. - Tue, 24 Oct 2006 7:37pm

Im not a huge fan of Line 6 Spyders their amps sound really fake. I cant get a true clean sound and the distortion is way to heavy and sounds really digital. Not the true sound you'd want from an amp. The effects are rad tho. - Sun, 24 Dec 2006 11:56am
