thestefano User Info... | Alright, quick question...does anyone know where i can download a free and no, not a trial version but a legitimate full version of a dvd rip? I would like to convert some DVDs to mpeg so i can transfer them easier through the net - any help? I tried the whole Limewire and other file sharing software angle but i never really trust installing those, let alone know which ones are the right versions to grab etc etc. Thanks for your help. MURDALIZER User Info... | If u don't have bittorrent yet, definately get that, just google "bittorrent" go to the first site, good, easy instructions on how to download and install bt, and how to config the ports on your router etc. Don't worry about spyware and malicios shit with bittorrent. Once you have bt up and running there's tons of software for the taking. 2 programs that i would highly recommend are, dvd shrink, and dvd decrypter, both are totally free and easy to use. If you want to compress dvd (vob) files to mpegs (divx, xvid) just google dvd-divx, I have tried converting with limmited sucess, remember when compressing the file it won't look as good as the original. But seriously after upgrading to shaw extreme high speed internet and dialing in the bittorrent client, I have access to almost everything, and all the compressing of files etc has already been done. The tv shows are very high quality, with no commercials, you can download, burn, and watch whole seasons in one afternoon. Divx (mpeg4) dvd players are less than $100, so you can watch on your tv, instead of the pc. Remember how u felt when u first used napster? well u will get that feeling all over again with the torrent network. goodluck. - Thu, 20 Apr 2006 7:45pm Edited: Thu, 20 Apr 2006 8:01pm

Shaggy User Info... | Or just find a copy of Nero, via torrent. Pretty easy to edit out all the extra fluff as well as compress/recode for manageability. - Thu, 20 Apr 2006 10:18pm Edited: Thu, 20 Apr 2006 10:19pm
Chris Logan User Info... | DVD Shrink is great for compressing dual layer DVDs down to single size - I've copied dozens of DVDs this way with no obvious loss in quality. It's no longer supported but you might be able to get the old version off of bittorrent. - Fri, 21 Apr 2006 10:20am Edited: Fri, 21 Apr 2006 10:22am
_Griphin_ User Info... | DVD Rip?!? Use DVDFab Platinum, I found it makes a nice backup of media to a 4.7 gig disc (rather then a Double Layer DVD). Torrunt?!? http://torrentsearcher.filesharingplace.com/ - Fri, 21 Apr 2006 1:23pm Edited: Fri, 21 Apr 2006 1:25pm

_Griphin_ User Info... | Outta curiousity, how well does DVDRip do when it comes to new protection systems you find on new DVD movies? I know DVDFab you had to keep updating cause of the new protection schemes, but because of a certain law they don't make the app anymore (that's a shame). - Mon, 24 Apr 2006 10:41am Edited: Mon, 24 Apr 2006 10:42am
