Canucks are done for the year. I say good riddance. Time to change some big things with this team (ahem, BERTUZZI) maybe now shit can actually happen. It's been a good ride with this team, but they're done. If anyone remembers Dallas a few years back, they folded completely, like the Canucks currently, and the next year they were back to being good. Change some personnel, change the heart of the team. - Thu, 13 Apr 2006 10:05pm Edited: Thu, 13 Apr 2006 10:10pm

Wow, that was my prediction, they wouldn't make the playoffs, even though the press stated the Nucks would make the playoffs because of their lineup. Thank christ for the World Cup this year, pity Canada can't play. :( - Thu, 13 Apr 2006 11:21pm Edited: Thu, 13 Apr 2006 11:23pm

Cool that the photo also shows Todd's big fat "Rude 'Eliminator' Dildo".

Get Brent Sutter in there, for a Brent/Darryl rivalry. That would be so fuckin cool to see two coaches start beating each other up.

/did the Canucks forget about something called......ummmm.........bodychecking...along the way? - Fri, 14 Apr 2006 12:04am Edited: Fri, 14 Apr 2006 12:11am

Say bye to Crawford. My prediction is Sunday will be the last you'll see his mug behind the Nucker's bench.

Maybe we'll get a goalie next year. Don't take this as me slaggin' Auld. But maybe a goalie that can handle rebounds? And patience? - Fri, 14 Apr 2006 7:30am Edited: Fri, 14 Apr 2006 7:32am

Well CLoutier was about due back, unfortunately about 3 weeks too late.

Jovo would have been nice for the past few months too.

I think bye bye Cooke (Kesler plays his role better), Morrison, Baumgartner, Park, and maybe a few of the callups like Greene, Bouck etc to sweeten any deals.

I may be the only one on the planet that thinks a line once considered the most dangerous in the league is only lacking a strong center man and a wake up call. Bert/Nas are exactly the kinds of players who have one bad year then get traded only to come back in full form.

However with all the raises coming the way of Carter, Sedins, Auld, etc it remains to be seen what can be afforded.

Jason King should be healthy by now too.. cheap, young, and talented.. - Fri, 14 Apr 2006 10:43am Edited: Fri, 14 Apr 2006 10:48am

I think Fartuzzi has some instructions from his lawyer to be a good boy until all the loose ends of his sucker punch are cleared up. You can tell the guy is trying to control his temper all the time. It sucks more because every so often we'd see a flash of the old unstoppable Bertuzzi. So rare.
The players need a shaking up and the Canucks need a goalie who will win games for them, much like Kiprusoff does for those Calgary chumps. Crawford should get one more year to try with a new mix of core players and a solid goalie.
And for fuck sakes, trade Cloutier to some other team so he can do well and Mike can finally say "I told you so" about Cloutier to everyone who ever hacked the guy down. Inconsistent when it matters most. - Fri, 14 Apr 2006 7:49pm Edited: Fri, 14 Apr 2006 7:54pm

Canucks Season goes to court?
Vancouver (AP)

**********

A seven year old boy was at the center of a Vancouver courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.

The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with the child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy
to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Vancouver Canucks, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone. - Mon, 17 Apr 2006 1:41pm Edited: Mon, 17 Apr 2006 1:43pm

Yea. My bet is on The Crow being replaced.

Also, I never want to see Eric Weinrich in a Canucks jersey again.
Steve McCarthy was infinitely better.
Unfortunately it seems the Canucks have a penchant for trading 1st round picks ie. RJ Umberger. - Wed, 19 Apr 2006 12:51pm Edited: Wed, 19 Apr 2006 12:52pm
