SickFuk User Info... | Well, since I just started writing a concept album of my own, I figured I'd see what other ones there are out there... What I consider a "concept album" is basically when a good portion of an album has been combined into a single story... The only ones I can think of are: A bunch of King Diamond albums I can't remeber the names of Rush - 2112 :Side one is the story of the Priests of Syrynx Pink Floyd - The Wall :Everyone knows that one Alice Cooper... the story of Steven... it started in 1971 with The Ballad of Dwyght Fry, and still continues in his recent albums... As well, the album Welcome to my Nightmare, Side 1 is a series of the story... I know there's more.... but can't remember them... which would be why I started this thread... to find out more of them... 'ere - Mon, 9 Jan 2006 2:56am

Which is the story of a serial killer growing up and his experiences which led him to what he's done... "And thats why Daddy killed them, he said we needed the food... He died so we could survive, without it we would die too" At the rate I'm going, it'll be ready sometime in 2016 'ere - Mon, 9 Jan 2006 12:35pm

jackass User Info... | I agree w/ the Coheed and Cambria albums...I hear they are based on a novel (or novels) that Claudio is writing. - Mon, 9 Jan 2006 5:46pm
alain User Info... | I thought Coheed and Cambria was based on their comic books. Mars Volta's Deloused in the Comatorium, as well as the new one, Frances the Mute, are my favorite concept albums (and that's the best kind of album). Tool's Lateralus was rumored to be based on a certain religion, though I can't remember which one. Look it up, it's interesting. - Mon, 9 Jan 2006 6:39pm

Jeremy Baker User Info... | Coheed is based on a story that Claudio has put into a comic and graphic novel... or the comic is more like based on the music. The TOOL stuff is interesting, I'll need to fire up some Lateralus today on the show: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lateralus - Tue, 10 Jan 2006 2:44pm

Tyler User Info... | RACEBANNON - SATAN'S KICKING YR DICK IN story of a guy who wants to be a rockstar, so satan comes and turns him into a female pop sensation. not quite screamo, hard to define, maybe storytelling noise rock or something. I hold it in high regard. - Mon, 16 Jan 2006 3:59pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | The only punk concept I know of is Smogtown's "Fuhrers Of The New Wave". The tale of The Fuhrers, a nasty band in the middle of a suburban oceanside repblican nightmare. The kids are starting to get turned on to the Fuhrers' "no rules" attitude and the town officials don't like it. They hire a group of mercanaries to take out the punks that culminates in a battle on the beach... All that in 13 songs in about half an hour. One of my alltime favorite records! - Wed, 18 Jan 2006 2:29pm
