_Griphin_ User Info... | I was curious, has anyone played with making PDF files? I must be doing something wrong, cause each PDF is too big (they should be smaller). Any ideas?!? Appreciate that. - Thu, 10 Nov 2005 11:38am
Peter Gardner User Info... | Do you have a ton of embedded fonts? Cutting those down could decrease the size. - Thu, 10 Nov 2005 3:31pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | I don't think I do, I think the main reason it's so big is cause I scan @ 300 DPI, but what I don't get is how did Dragon get away with small files (35 pages = 1 meg of file size), unless they saved the page scans in PCX rather then JPG. - Thu, 10 Nov 2005 6:41pm
Aaargh! User Info... | It also depends heavily on what program you use to encode, as some are better than others & get away with smaller files more easily. PDFactory is free (for a while) & works well. - Fri, 11 Nov 2005 9:35am
_Griphin_ User Info... | It's wierd, I just had to upgrade/fix the scanner so I can actually scan in slides, and the files are getting smaller. I'm gonna re-scan something I scanned before and see if the file size is reduced. I'm using Image2PDF v1.8 BTW. - Fri, 11 Nov 2005 10:19am
Peter Gardner User Info... | Oh i thought it was a text PDF you were dealing with. Photos, I have no idea. - Fri, 11 Nov 2005 10:25pm
