_Griphin_ User Info... | Anyone remember when a bunch of the punkers made the front page of the Times Colonist over an incident which happened on Hillside Road (past Fifth street) dealing with the local police. I looked at the Microfilm of Times Colonist all afternoon (July/August 1989 and 1990) and still haven't found it. I was thinking about scanning the article into computer (as well as all ny gig posters) and putting them on a website. Question: How many times have the local punk rockers made the Times Colonist?!? - Fri, 21 Oct 2005 6:26pm

Yo Mama User Info... | Do you mean how many times have old schoolers been covered in the TC, ever? I write for the paper and I've written about plenty of them.... - Sat, 22 Oct 2005 5:07pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | I was actually really curious to get this article (and a few others that were covered in the TC), but I'm curious when it was covered, actually. Oh yeah, there was a big standoff a bunch of years back I think, I fergot where I read about it tho'. - Sat, 22 Oct 2005 9:34pm
jay brown User Info... | Well we did get written up for the house on hillside but not too much. The new years eve party of 89 in esquimalt was when we made the front page for the riot. they interviewed me for that one. But ya the Hillside hellhouse was written up a few times as well. Then there was the caledonia houses those were written up a few times as well. Punk houses nowadays just dont throw parties like we used to back then. It's almost as if they dont want their houses to burn down at the end of the night. - Sun, 23 Oct 2005 2:20pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Cool, thanks for the date. When were you in the TC for the house on Hillside, and I thought you lived in a blue trimmed house next to my apartment on 5th Street?!? - Sun, 23 Oct 2005 3:02pm
Brian VIHC User Info... | Did the housewrecker at the Hump House in 1994 make the paper? That was a fitting introduction to local punk for me. ha ha - Sun, 23 Oct 2005 11:32pm
Inhalien User Info... | I used to have that - the alley by Lyle's? Caption was something like young punks destroy alley, spit on passerby, etc. I believe someone threw up, broke a window and then did some spray painting and that was about it. That was such a laugh - it was more fun to go on the roof of the Dominion and get kicked out by the doorman. I'll see if I can dig it up... - Mon, 24 Oct 2005 8:34am

jay brown User Info... | ah yes the spittin in the mouth thing, that was back in the mid eighties, ity was me and andrew and ken and rob and a few of the early piss alley punks.... across from the fifth street, well we lived on prior street a couple of years ago but it wasnt a party house. the old hellhouse was pretty much across the street from fifth street it was where all the condos are now next to the paint store. Someone threw a molotov cocktail through the living room window back around 92..... That was the house we had Greenday, and N.O.F.X. and Lagwagon, and tons of others bands play in.Then the house in esquimalt was back in the eighties, the landlord lit that one fire in febuary of 90, we were all home at the time too, what a peach that guy was. - Mon, 24 Oct 2005 12:43pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Jeez, I remember the thrill (?!?) of spitting in peoples mouth's in Piss Alley, just the thought of that still grosses me out. Man, shitty to hear about the hellhouse, and your landlord in Esquimalt must of loved you tenants for him to do something like that. :) - Mon, 24 Oct 2005 2:19pm
Inhalien User Info... | What ever happened to Mohawk Andrew? I heard he was a bike courier. I'm still in touch with Rob... - Mon, 24 Oct 2005 8:34pm
