Fun Trick Noisemaker User Info... | Just wondering. Where have you gone to get tattoos/piercings or some kinda of body art ? Myself, I have gone to "Urge Studios" a couple of times for piercings. I like how the staff are pretty cool and welcoming, at least in my experience. This guy Dave was awesome about explaining everything and what the experience would be. They go into the details also. Which place(s) would you recommend ? Or maybe share your experiences. - Sat, 2 Jul 2005 7:18pm
XY-SATAN User Info... | Had my nips done a a hole in the wall next to the Garden of Eden, which went out a biz shortly after . Urge , my lady and a lot of our friends have gone there, very professional . - Sun, 3 Jul 2005 8:42am
Kimberleykaos User Info... | Although I have had plenty o' work in Vic, mostly Universal, recently a few of us girlz packed up the car for a roadtrip and hit a buddies new shop opened in Naniamo. Black and Blue Tattoo, very cool shop, nice people, good work. Had some tag style shit on my arm done, but friends got work done by Albert, who I do not know, but have been informed he was once in Vic, but AMAZING ARTIST. Customed a piece fast as anything for Dani, and it is just gorgeous. Highly recommended, and below fair pricing (but then again, it was 4 of us, maybe we were spoiled) :) - Sun, 3 Jul 2005 11:15am
Jesspsycho User Info... | I have had a tattoo done in Hawaii and 1 done at Urge many many years ago when they were still in piss alley and my last one was done at Pair o Dice. I really liked all the places and I plan on getting my next piece done @ Pair O Dice as soon as I can get off my lazy procrastinatin ass!!! - Sun, 3 Jul 2005 12:30pm
Cheeky User Info... | Who does surface pierings in vic? other then gothic...eee... - Sun, 3 Jul 2005 2:03pm
ammut User Info... | Alot of the places in town won't do unusal piercings, so your best bet is the gothic, I keep hearing lots of crap about that place, but I've been getting (lots) of piercings there since they opened, and have had nothing but wonderful experience! Plus, Jay(the guy who works there) actually loves doing unusal piercings. I've had my hands done there, and despite what every other piercer has said about how they never take and always reject, I've had them for about 2 years now with absolutly no problem - Sun, 3 Jul 2005 3:30pm
Tyler User Info... | if you're 18+, go to tattoo zoo. - Sun, 3 Jul 2005 10:38pm
Cheeky User Info... | Yeah, I've been going to gothic for the usual piercings, but just wanted to know any other place did surface. Your hand pictures are actually up on website shay. - Mon, 4 Jul 2005 11:47am
Dicky User Info... | Leeroy at pair o dice is the only guy who i will let near me with a tattoo gun... he does AMAZING work - Mon, 4 Jul 2005 11:57am
dumpstermesh User Info... | Dustin at Pair-O-Dice did me and my man not too long ago. You should see how our colors turned out. Fucking brilliant!!! I'm dedicating my left arm to him. Can't wait to get the garden finished. - Mon, 4 Jul 2005 12:21pm
AdoptaPirate User Info... | I would stay away from gothic unless your looking for some udnerage peircings or something. I have seen a couple piercings done there and I have never been so disapointed with a piercer in my life. Everyone raves about urge, my friend just got a tat there and he was very happy. I just got my snakebites done at blank gen because I like it there the best, but tahts probly cause I like the people there the most. - Tue, 5 Jul 2005 10:54am
jay brown User Info... | I can honestly say the only things I have ever seen from Gothik have either been totally crooked, or so fucked that they had to be redone by someone else. I am sure they cant all be bad from there or they wouldnt be in business still but I do know a bunch of underage people that have gone and gotten pierced there and that alone tells me I wouldnt go there. - Tue, 5 Jul 2005 2:57pm
Masturbating The War God User Info... | Both at Pair O Dice, first one by Mike turned out great, the other one was done by another guy, didn't turn out so well. Kim, hasn;t Black and Blue been open for a few years? Micah still piercing there? - Tue, 5 Jul 2005 3:21pm
Jesspsycho User Info... | I know this speaks for itself but DONT GET TATTOO'ed IN SOOKE. I don't know how many shops there are out there but stay the hell away from the one in downtown Sooke. He tattoo's underage kids and he does a shitty job at that. A friend of mine's 14 yr old daughter paid $100 for literally a big black clump of ink. Since then we have been told this guy can be charged with sexual assault because apparently any penetration of the skin is just that. Who woulda know? Anyways I guess the Sooke high school is filled with badly tattooed teenagers because of this guy. Why they keep going back I dunno. I really wish I knew the name of this place!! - Tue, 5 Jul 2005 3:25pm
Criss Crass User Info... | Piercing is one thing, but as far is tattooing goes, do you want originality, or the same Taz as the next sailor. A custom shop with quality artists should allready be a sterile, comfortable environment: were the artist won't take it personally when the drawing he/she has done for you isn't quite what you were after, where the piece you get isn't picked from a wall where hundreds of people have picked the same tattoo from. Don't be fooled by an artist's portfolio ither. Remember those are usually only pictures of their "best work". Ask your friends, ask people with work you like where they got it from. In my 100% biased opinion, I would recommend URGE because every artist their is capable of doing custom/original art. Knowing exactly what you want helps alot because the hardest part of a tattoo artists job is translating what you have in your head into the piece you are gonna have forever on you. - Wed, 6 Jul 2005 4:05pm
Tambo User Info... | "How about a Kermit the frog?" "I want a skull" "Well I can do Kermit the frog, so I'll do a Kermit the frog..." - Wed, 6 Jul 2005 5:29pm
s_squared User Info... | what about a place to get whitework tattooing done? Man, an artist that will do that is harder to find than a virgin in a sorority house :P - Wed, 6 Jul 2005 6:15pm
kayleigh User Info... | All I have are raves about blank generation and Urge, I got my nose done at Urge and my lip at blank gen, the guy there is awesome and I'll be going back there for any other peircings. For my tat I'm going to Urge, I've heard only good things about their artists. - Tue, 12 Jul 2005 10:54am
lunchbox User Info... | i sure hope that you're not disregarding the importance of looking at portfolios by saying; "Don't be fooled by an artist's portfolio ither. Remember those are usually only pictures of their "best work" although portfolios tend to hold an artists best work, they still can tell you alot. for example if you look at a portfolio and the pictures in it have shakey lines, that will tell you alot. i'm a firm beliver in the idea that anyone looking for tattoo work should go to everyone and check out their portfolios. it won't tell you everything you need to know to make a desision, but if you pay attention to what you're looking at, it can at least tell you where not to go. - Tue, 12 Jul 2005 4:12pm
Tragedy User Info... | I agree with the whole Don't go to the guy in Sooke thing. Everytime I go in there he tries to talk me into getting a tattoo on my lower back because HE thinks it's sexy. He rambles on about it. He kinda gives me the creeps. Pervert. I say pair o dice all the way, just about everybody I know has gotten work there and they're all satisfied. - Tue, 12 Jul 2005 4:47pm
jay brown User Info... | there are a lot of good artists here in Victoria. Yup urge generally speaking has all good artists I wont argue that point at all. I have had work done by a few of the guys there, and love it all, hell a couple of them even made it into tattoo mags. But, there are good artists at a bunch of shops in town, and good piercers as well. I go to Pair O Dice now, Dustin has been doing most of my recent work and it fucking rocks. Before that I was down at the Tattoo Zoo when Dylan was there and he was working on me as well. There are great artists at all of those shops, and at Universal as well. It really just depends on who your comfortable with, make friends with your artist it tends to make sitting in the chair a hell of a lot easier... unless your just getting that butterfly on the wall, then no matter where you go your artist hates you and wishes you would just go away. - Tue, 12 Jul 2005 4:49pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | In the past I've gone to Stark Raving Mike with excellent results and currently Dustin at Pair o Dice is doing my work. - Tue, 12 Jul 2005 9:42pm

Tambo User Info... | Response to Cheeky - You know it's there, even if no one else does. It's something to keep you going, so commons are straight edge or vegan, or whatever, but I would ASSUME (I don't really know) it's just so you know it's there... And I'm repeating myself... - Thu, 21 Jul 2005 8:06pm
