_Griphin_ User Info... | That's bizarre, I thought there was only 1 vinyl pressing places left, and they had been in business for quite a number of years. - Sun, 12 Jun 2005 8:01pm
mactac User Info... | yes... acme was started byPaul & Greg, the guys that ran stickman records/aquarius records & all their sub-labels. They were around forever, released about 200 releases themselves (not to mention the zillions of records they pressed for everyone else) & then called it quits about a year ago & sold the pressing plant. Greg has started up a new label (Slush) I was told that there was someone in Van buying up some pressing equipment with the intention of starting a plant in Van. Of course this is just heresay, so I"m not 100% positive, tho I assume the information is correct. That all being said, It's pretty cheap to get records done up in the states right now because the US dollar has tanked so much in the last couple of years & there is less business going around, so more competition. THe downside to this is that many plants want 50% up front now before they even start pressing because of all the labels that have gone T.U. over the last few years & not paid their bills. - Mon, 13 Jun 2005 9:55am
