| SentencedtoBurn User Info... | Narrrr, now that 2002 be behind us, let's take a look back and examine our favorite metal releases of the last year. Hands down my favorite goes to Origin - Informis, Infinitas, Inhumanitas. A close second going to The Crown (Crowned in Terror). Holy shit for those who've never heard Origin, and better yet, for those who claim metal takes no talent, listen to this album. Flo Mounier now has a credible adversary (John Longstrength) in the "superchunkgrinddeath" drumming genre. As for the new Nile and Opeth, baahhh, not my thing, I'm sure the rest of you will crucify me for that statement. Oh yeah and one last thing, will In Flames take a page from the Carnal Forge playbook and Please.....Die! I guess for every rocking Swede, there's one that sucks. - Mon, 6 Jan 2003 2:08pm | ||

Your condemnation of metal is unfortunate, however it is understandable. You cannot grasp complex, technical music. | Jesse User Info... | I have to agree with Sentenced on that one... Some people do have a hard time comprehending technical music, Often claiming bands to be "Off-Time" or "just a buncha noise". I often hate a band on first listen because there is so much to take in (IE. Origin/Cryptopsy) But after you get the hang of the songs and grasp the time changes you realize how fucking kickass the musicians in the aforementioned bands are, Especially if you witness them live. Back on topic though, Origin and The crown are both very good releases for 2002, At the top of my list. I'm also a fan of the new Carnal Forge (Please.... Die) And, Im not sure if it was released 2002 but Death - Live and Raw is the fucking shit! Unfortunately just as I rightfully assume all emo fans are closet ass rimmers, most people assume metal is poorly produced and basic.
