Gman User Info... | Although I like JV Burger stand for its atmosphere, I would not rate it #1. Spinnakers has an excellent (if *slightly* overpriced) burger w/mushrooms. Hermann's has apparently switched back to more regular bar fare from its previous British/Eastern fusion thingamabob, but I have not yet had the pleasure of Dan Tate's fingers in my food. If you've had the pleasure of Dan Tate's fingers on his keyboard, you might know why this is exciting. - Wed, 20 Apr 2005 2:35pm
SickFuk User Info... | I'm not sure if it still exists... but the best burgers I've ever had were on Pender Island, right at the ferry terminal at this little place called The Stand Haven't been there in a while though.... but it's well worth the ferry trip 'ere - Wed, 20 Apr 2005 3:24pm

Joie User Info... | Harveys at Home Depot. You get to pick all your trimmings. Made fresh while you watch. - Wed, 20 Apr 2005 4:19pm
Gman User Info... | Oh ya, if it's a veggie burger you're after, you can't beat Mother's in Sooke, as far as I'm concerned. The first time I had one, I tried to send it back saying "I ordered a *veggie* burger..." ... but it was the veggie burger. - Wed, 20 Apr 2005 4:32pm
Gare User Info... | I'm a big fan of Maude Hunters burgers - Wed, 20 Apr 2005 5:45pm

_Griphin_ User Info... | Best place used to be in Sooke years ago, a little hole in the wall, who's office oversaw the many motels they had down the hill (I still can't remember the name of the place, Sooke motel I think). In Victoria, I've gotta side with either Irish Times (awesome place) or 5th Street Bar and Grill (there buffalo burgers are awesome). - Wed, 20 Apr 2005 7:29pm
moron User Info... | Best burger in town is the veggie burger at Blue Fox. Now that's a mean sammich. Cheers - Wed, 20 Apr 2005 9:41pm

Dave S User Info... | Harveys, in the lobby of the Home Depot in langford. Seriously. It tastes like processed heaven. - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 12:55am
jay brown User Info... | o.k. just for starters a veggie burger is a total farce it is not a burger, it's a lame ass sawdust and nut sandwich. Ferris's does have a damn fine burger.... and if you are going to eat a sawdust sandwich on a bun then Rebar is the place to go. - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 1:05am
Anonymous User Info... | Believe it or not, the Steamers burger rocks! - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 1:50am
ML7Mike User Info... | Colowood Corners makes a decent burger, and great wings, but nothing beats their Friday 4-6 $3 Roast beef dinner w/ Caeser Salad and fries and yummy heart hardening gravy. - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 9:11am
josh User Info... | Is shakies that little burger stand in jordan river right across the road from the beach? If it is, ya, that's probably the best burger around. - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 9:24am
Mandroid User Info... | I'm gonna have to cast my vote for Shakies as well. Damn fine burgers there. But in second would be Father's.... that little burger stand on the way into Sooke, just before Edward Milne School. Mozza Mushroom Burger there is delicious. - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 10:55am
Gman User Info... | "a veggie burger is a total farce it is not a burger, it's a lame ass sawdust and nut sandwich" Obviously, you have not had the veggie burger at Mom's in Sooke. werd - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 12:07pm
lonemonk User Info... | Even though I no longer eat the animals, I have to vote for Ferris' as well. You will never walk away hungry, or if you're smart, sober. - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 1:15pm
moron User Info... | I find it very amusing Jay that you even have set foot in Rebar. The only restaurant in town I find it harder to spend any time in without getting the willies is Green Cuisine. Cheers - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 1:35pm
The One After Two User Info... | where is Ferris'? - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 1:43pm
Lythic Matt User Info... | shag's on quadra. - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 1:49pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Heh... Shag's on Quadra, it's cheap and it rocks! I recommend the non-burger-type Clubhouse there!!! (It helps that it's in my neighbourhood). - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 3:37pm
Rex User Info... | Barb's Place on Fisherman's Wharf... best by a mile order the Barb's Burger... or the Cajun Salmon burger (which isn't on the menu). - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 7:52pm
420 User Info... | shags burgers? i don't think so, any bachelor could do better in frying pan.i have eaten many things from shags cause its close to work. i would never recomend that place. they use the left over fried chiken strips in the club house it's fucking gross. 5.95 for plain burger and a few few frys is not cheap. .80 cents for cheese .80 cents for bacon .80 cents for mushrooms $1 for gravy 9.35 plus gst Wendy's bacon mushroom melt, they only bring it out once a year for a few weeks. mmm good. estevan fish and chips make a killer halibut burger, and they give you lots of yummy frys. - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 8:59pm
Blazin80 User Info... | Ferris's is near the bottom of Yates just up from Wharf St, across from the parkade - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 9:20pm
WastedYouthCrew User Info... | I'd have to say I make a damn good burger but theres this fucking wicked 50's style diner up in the Shuswap. Best burgers I've ever tasted. - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 10:46pm
The One After Two User Info... | Thanks Blazin, I will Feris tomorrow for lunch! For fast food, I'm all about Wendy's Big Bacon Classic or A&W Teen burger. I want to like Burger King, but Whoppers are real hit and miss. My last Colwood experience was big fat miss, like gross. In Van, I like Vera Burger, they need to open one downtown. - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 11:02pm
ML7Mike User Info... | Last time I had a Shakies burger it was a frozen pre-fab patty, which is not very good. However, the surfers ball cookies on the the other hand are not too bad. - Fri, 22 Apr 2005 8:55am
Japanese Air Force User Info... | Steamers' burgers would be better if they weren't $11. They're good, but not worth $11!!! If you're up island in Courtenay, go to Georges' Food Bar and get a cheese deluxe. As for in Victoria, I have yet to find a fantastic burger for a decent price... Ferris' burgers are probably my favourite so far. ~JAF - Fri, 22 Apr 2005 12:58pm
jepsycho User Info... | Milestones has a pretty yummy 3-cheeseburger - Fri, 22 Apr 2005 5:16pm

PrincessP User Info... | Logan's, the strathcona, the beagle, cook st fish and chips (closed now), Burger king is probably my favorite. but I have a friend Tony that makes burgers at BBQ'S that have ground lamb and ground beef omg they are to die for. - Sun, 24 Apr 2005 4:13pm
The One After Two User Info... | ate the Ferris Burger on Friday (mushrooms, cheese), so good. I feel like a burger tonight... maybe I will try this Milestone's 3 cheese. Logan's is a stone's throw from the ole homestead or maybe I will venture to Cook Street for a taste at the Beagle. Anyone know about The George and Dragon (Fernwood)? or That Cafe across the street from Beacon Hill Park? - Sun, 24 Apr 2005 6:44pm
Mi*coll* User Info... | The george sucks. They don't play music so that you have to put money in the jukebox. Furthermore, the owner is running Fernwood into the ground. He owns the (vacant) shops across from the george, and has set the leases so high that no one can afford it. They have been empty for maybe 3 years now. - Mon, 25 Apr 2005 4:11pm
Maxwell User Info... | hows the burger at the george? the methadone clinic does great business in ferwood. - Mon, 25 Apr 2005 5:13pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | So does the one on Quadra street. - Mon, 25 Apr 2005 5:21pm

Hey Moron, remember throwing up all over that rocker after eating the cow burger?................. stupid fucker decided to pick a fight with a punk rocker that just ate a burger the size of the plate and when he punched him Moron threw up on him...... - Tue, 26 Apr 2005 7:06pm
Brandon User Info... | ahahhahhahahahh thats fucking great! - Wed, 27 Apr 2005 12:16pm
dumpstermesh User Info... | Yah Ferris!!! They make an awesome lamb burger if you like lamb. I don't think you can get the surfers balls at Shakies anymore...the woman that made them is no longer there. Watch out for their Oyster burgers though, that shit BURNS!! I think Fathers in Sooke makes the best beefy burger. In the summer there is usually a fresh fruit stand nearby too. - Wed, 27 Apr 2005 12:43pm
myka User Info... | sadly.... most of you will never know the crazyness that is Armanis Grill in Nanaimo. This place has THE BEST burger that you will ever have in your life! Im not joking. This place is abso-fukin-lutley the best. - Mon, 2 May 2005 11:11am
SweetGrass User Info... | Rosie's diner on Cook st. have wicked burgers and shakes and if you are in Sooke check out Mom's Cafe for their burgers... worth the trek!!! - Tue, 3 May 2005 4:20pm
BBJones User Info... | Oh yeah Mom's in Sooke. Not just the burger, but the killerest (yes it's a word) menu I've seen on this Island. In town, Fairfield Fish and Chips for best burger hands down. Anyone remember the Cultered Cow that used to be on Blanshard I think? They had a burger so big, they used whole mushrooms! It was easily a meal fit for two... - Wed, 4 May 2005 1:54pm
WILLEM User Info... | BURGERS BURGERS BURGERS i like them phuckin mcdonaldz burgers - Wed, 4 May 2005 2:49pm
evilkleg User Info... | I would have to agree with most of what's been said so far. The Blue Fox has great burgers with some more unique toppings and is not TOO expensive. The Prairie Inn has always had great burgers (including the legendary Belly Buster). They used to be the cheapest too (but not anymore). Milestone's 4 cheese is awesome and decadent but costly. Ferris's is one of the biggest (1/2 pounder) and good value for your money. And I haven't been there in years but Ma Miller's in Goldstream had a burger called "The Works!" and at the time I thought it was the best ever. - Tue, 7 Jun 2005 2:48pm
Ward Ensemble User Info... | is the belly buster the three patty thing with all that cheese, a butterflied smokie, saurkraut and hot mustard on top? Or was that all a vicious hangover remedy concoted by the freaks that took me there? - Wed, 8 Jun 2005 6:52pm
Nothingface User Info... | Killerest is not a word BB Gun and Robnoxious got it right.. Not only the National League but Hollywood park and the concession at Lambrick Park too!! Combo burger with a weiner and fried onions.........wwwwwhhhhhooooaoaaa !!!Dont fuck with ballpark burgers! - Mon, 13 Jun 2005 9:34am
Ward Ensemble User Info... | not just ANY wiener....a SMOKIE. Definitely a superior sausage. - Tue, 14 Jun 2005 10:01am
Mr. Hell User Info... | I agree...the best burgers I've had that weren't in a restaurant were at Little League concessions. Never had a bad burger at a baseball game. And Ferris' is the best I've had yet anywhere. Plus sweet potato fries with ginger mayo and a few varied oysters...fuck yes!! Red Robin's Royal Burger is a nice heart attacker too. As is the lovely Double Double at White Spot. Good lord, that Triple O Sauce!!! Yet to try many of the places read about here, but their times will come! And YES! I miss Fuddruckers too. - Sun, 19 Jun 2005 11:49am
glenn tripton User Info... | Vincent Vega: And you know what they call a.... a.... a 'Quarter Pounder' with cheese in Paris? Jules: They don't call it a 'Quarter Pounder' with cheese? Vincent Vega: No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn't know what the fuck a 'Quarter Pounder' is. Jules: Then what do they call it? Vincent Vega: They call it a "Royale" with cheese. Jules: A "Royale" with cheese! What do they call a 'Big Mac'? Vincent Vega: A 'Big Mac's a 'Big Mac', but they call it "le 'Big-Mac'". Jules: "Le 'Big-Mac'"! Ha ha ha ha! What do they call a 'Whopper'? Vincent Vega: I dunno, I didn't go into 'Burger King'. - Sun, 19 Jun 2005 1:45pm
