| Gman User Info... | Although I like JV Burger stand for its atmosphere, I would not rate it #1. Spinnakers has an excellent (if *slightly* overpriced) burger w/mushrooms. Hermann's has apparently switched back to more regular bar fare from its previous British/Eastern fusion thingamabob, but I have not yet had the pleasure of Dan Tate's fingers in my food. | 420 User Info... | shags burgers? i don't think so, any bachelor could do better in frying pan.i have eaten many things from shags cause its close to work. i would never recomend that place. they use the left over fried chiken strips in the club house it's fucking gross. 5.95 for plain burger and a few few frys is not cheap. .80 cents for cheese .80 cents for bacon .80 cents for mushrooms $1 for gravy 9.35 plus gst Wendy's bacon mushroom melt, they only bring it out once a year for a few weeks. mmm good. estevan fish and chips make a killer halibut burger, and they give you lots of yummy frys. - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 8:59pm | ||

If you're up island in Courtenay, go to Georges' Food Bar and get a cheese deluxe. As for in Victoria, I have yet to find a fantastic burger for a decent price... I don't think you can get the surfers balls at Shakies anymore...the woman that made them is no longer there. Watch out for their Oyster burgers though, that shit BURNS!! | evilkleg User Info... | I would have to agree with most of what's been said so far. The Blue Fox has great burgers with some more unique toppings and is not TOO expensive. The Prairie Inn has always had great burgers (including the legendary Belly Buster). They used to be the cheapest too (but not anymore). Milestone's 4 cheese is awesome and decadent but costly. Ferris's is one of the biggest (1/2 pounder) and good value for your money. | Mr. Hell User Info... | I agree...the best burgers I've had that weren't in a restaurant were at Little League concessions. Never had a bad burger at a baseball game. And Ferris' is the best I've had yet anywhere. Plus sweet potato fries with ginger mayo and a few varied oysters...fuck yes!! Red Robin's Royal Burger is a nice heart attacker too. As is the lovely Double Double at White Spot. Good lord, that Triple O Sauce!!! Yet to try many of the places read about here, but their times will come! And YES!
