Laprider User Info... | Well, I've been meaning to bring this up for a while, now my body clock is fucked so I will say my bit. Having just returned from a trip back out to NY and back I can say this with even more sincerity. Everyone here should be truly thankful to nev and scott and all at live victoria...you don't know how good a resource this is. Nowhere I went, or have researched going had any site that even came close to this one. Yes there is a lot of BS that goes on, myself included right aaron, where u been baby. I have been playing since before most of you were born and victoria never had anything that brought as many musicians together as this board. My guess is 10% of people that post here are the ones actually viewing the site? Anyway how many bands formed here...how many people met, how many genres started to take a different view of others, even if only in private, how many people bought and sold gear, booked gigs...I would really like to know if anyone got laid on this board. well anyway, I really mean it...take it for granted ...you would miss if it wasn't here...I always track people down her so?hmm...just my two cents...support them, buy them drinks, get your student loan and buy nev and hand massage I don't know.....be nice to the little old lady down the road while your at it or I'll kick your ass! - Sun, 6 Mar 2005 11:32pm

stringbender User Info... | Damn right. I just moved away from Vic to Edmonton, and although Edmonton is 4 times the size, there is nothing here like Live Vic (hell I check in and read livevic in Edmonton looking for good deals on gear). It is the shiznit. How ya doing Steve? Things are going great here in Edmonton, except I can't find a decent BBS to connect with other musicians here! And I am too old (ie a parent) to hang out at the bars and pubs hoping to make contact with someone. Any connections in Edmonton you care to share? Open invite to all at LiveVic, anyone know some connections in Edmonchuk where I can go/talk to? I like to play and pen tunes in the vein of Chris Isaak, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Dan Lanois on the roots side and Coldplay, Radiohead, U2, Gomez on the contemporary side. SickFuk User Info... | I've got to agree, the entire concept of Live vic rocks.... It makes a great hub for the Victoria music scene, and I don't know of anything else like it out there... What I do remember is way back in the Stone Age, before the internet actually [yes, I am old]... back when people used to dial up BBS's instead of Blogs.... There was one in Vic that stood out, and performed the same type of a service that LiveVic does.... The X BBS, run by Turb0.... Funny thing is, I recently discovered LiveVicScott was one of the kids that used to log on there about 10 years ago.... There's my 2 cents 'ere - Mon, 7 Mar 2005 11:59am
jackass User Info... | not to take away from the awesomeness of LiveVic, but there is a site similar to it for Edmonton/Calgary/Alberta: indecline.net - Mon, 7 Mar 2005 12:27pm
dooker User Info... | I gave Nev a sax at christmas (had one kicking around) and when he thanked me I told him what you are saying laprider - I agree - an incredible resource - support this website!!!!! - Mon, 7 Mar 2005 3:41pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | I'm in total agreement with how vital LiveVictoria is in this city. It brings people together and without LiveVic, I wouldn't know which bands are playing on certain dates in certain places in town. The "X" BBS was really cool back a few years ago, and I do believe Internet was the one thing which killed that BBS. I'm still amazed that my donation (which was going to the third line on there) was what started the whole thing. Nuff said. - Mon, 7 Mar 2005 3:51pm
Japanese Air Force User Info... | Lots of ex-X'ers on here. That was my source of communication and debauchery when I moved to Victoria. ~JAF - Mon, 7 Mar 2005 4:26pm
