_Griphin_ User Info... | trying to learn or do anything with guitar. I totally just lost $6 b/f tax trying to restring the .042 string and almost snapped my guitar in half in the process. I mean there wasn't much point in learning anyways, it's not like I'll even play live anyways (I refuse to play with people). I'll probably give it to Long & McQuades tomorrow (with practice amp). Anyhow, nuff ranting. - Sun, 6 Mar 2005 4:45pm
Troutbreath User Info... | We've all been there, we all feel your pain, just don't kick the dog/cat/girlfriend it will get better. - Sun, 6 Mar 2005 5:18pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Yeah I hear ya. I just can't play the thing anymore. It seems silly that I give up because it was my first attempt at re-stringing it. Heck, I almost put the RP-80 up for sale, yeesh. Instead I just packed the guitar equipment away, it'll probably be there for quite a few years. Doubtful I'll get any money from L&M for the amp or pedal. However, I should take it in to see if there's something wrong with the guitar. - Sun, 6 Mar 2005 5:22pm
mica User Info... | i remember freaking out and calling my dad long distance to play the low e and b strings into the phone so i could tune my guitar. i don't know how many times in the first year i almost said "screw this". i'm sure glad i didn't. in a chaotic world there is nothing like the respite that comes with strumming the acoustic and humming some words; its the only way i can tune evrything out. and shit, you don't even have to be good to enjoy it! - Mon, 7 Mar 2005 12:26pm
WILLEM User Info... | cry me a river, you get what you put in too your music, maybe you should learn how to string your guitar first, then learn how to tune it, then, you have to be good to have other people enjoy it, go play in the closset for a few years, but you aint gonna learn much, with out others teaching you something, dont get me wrong you can teach yourself, I did for years, but you will learn more with help from people with experience. I got tonnes,15 years worth, want lessons, I will give you a deal, 10 $ an hour, 2 hour minimum, thats 20 bones, but I want it in a case of beer, I will teach you how to play at the beach, try to find a better deal, and you will learn more than you could ever imagine or go ahead, and quit, be a pansy, go take up the accordian maybe get a pet monkey, that is why accordian players have monkeys, no-one like accordians, but they will tough it out to watch a monkey, and maybe evan toss some change, to help buy it some bananas. there is always the musical spoons. good luck - Mon, 7 Mar 2005 2:19pm
SweetGrass User Info... | Hey there Griphin...don't give up man.....When you can kick back and make something like music come out of your guitar it wil be worth all the frustration, callouses, blisters and bad notes. If you want a gentle guide as a teacher, contact Lonny koch at trinity sound. He is simply the best! I'm pulling for you, SweetGrass - Mon, 7 Mar 2005 2:30pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Thanks SweetGrass. Yeah, I'm starting to get good at it, although I'm still choked about the string. Guess you all experienced an outburst which was caused due to my head injury. But yeah, I dunno. Guess I'm gonna need to take lessons. - Mon, 7 Mar 2005 3:56pm
willem User Info... | Practice makes perfect, no-one will ever be perfect, keep practicing. And never quit, you will get better and better, but not perfect. Play for 2-4 hours everyday, 7 days a week.365 days a year, and you will see how fast you get better. - Wed, 9 Mar 2005 9:22am
