| J User Info... | or is this msg board section "seeking musician's" a bit of a farce? I've tried sooooooo many times since my last band broke up to find people here to start something with.... and all people talk about is "oooh ok, we'll set something up for next week"... and what transpires is an endless game of phone tag until you hear that its just been a waste of time cause the people you are going to jam with aren't interested anymore... FUCK DOES THAT EVER PISS ME OFF!!! just be straight up with someone dont fuck around... i've put off and sacrificed alot of nights waiting and waiting to hear from people and all i get is a fucking wasted night out of it... sorry if im wasting anyones time by ranting its jsut that i'm getting pissed off about how many musicians there are and how many are willing to try something new... | Helonwheels User Info... | It can be difficult just to get an existing band together to jam and practice, we all know that. It becomes even more difficult just trying to establish a 'try-out' between strangers and their schedules but it can work. Once you're all hooked up and diggin the rock'n then you won't even remember how painful this experience has been, kind of like the way yer brain makes ya forget how painful childbirth is so that you do it again. - Wed, 26 Jan 2005 12:40pm | ||

| Wig User Info... | this board is only one of many soucres for finding people to make music with. every music store in this town has a cork board in their store. and the same could be said about any one store if thats the only place you looked. i myself find it hard to find other people, because i'm not a bassist or a drummer. i'm a guitar/vox player like every one else looking for a drummer and a bassist and maybe even a keyboard player. i found a drummer though a sales rep that came into my work and we were chatting about music. still need a bassist though... maybe one will walk through the door today. in the past years i found one bassist through live vic and one through the cork board at l&m. both times it was a wanted add that i had not them. so hey! do you play bass? do you like the smell of pot? will you bring beers atleast once a month? - Wed, 26 Jan 2005 1:07pm | ||

| Død[]Sanger User Info... | J, What you have to realize is that victoria is rather small.. When you think about how meny people on average/age group that are going to turn out to be musicians + the odds of instrument you need + odds of similar musical tastes leaves Victoria pretty barren at the end... All you can do is keep posting and hope some people turn up, or move to a bigger city... I've been looking for people to jam with for years on here, only once have I had an audition with a formed band with similar tastes from a reply... the rest have just been scattered people in the same boat lurking around... | Spark User Info... | I have had a hell of a lot of success on this board finding musicians. I think it has to do with your approach. If someone posts something negative on your topic, ignore it.. I can't count the number of times I came across a post from a musicain with similar interests as myself where had they not freaked out at some negative post in some ignorant manner or another, I would have replied or emailed them. - Tue, 1 Feb 2005 7:46pm | ||
