Ok, I realize this is shameless self-promotion to the extreme but I had to tell somebody?! Myself and my current project "Pacific Frontal System" have been featured prominently in the upcoming October issue of Bass Player magazine. Regardless of what you may or may not think of that rag it's still a big deal? We have been getting played on CBC's "New music canada" show quite a bit ( free webspace, local bands should sign up now!) were featured in this month's Offbeat ,magazine and will be again in an upcoming issue of Monday. After our upcoming Thursday's show October 4th we will not be performing again until maybe the spring so catch us now....You can hear our tunes and read our bio info here; http://www.newmusiccanada.com/genres/artist.cfm?mode=longBio&Band_Id=7444
Keep in mind that these tunes are influenced by bands like Black Flag, The Melvins and Sabbath as much as any "percieved" reggae vibe. Heavy, physical music is what crosses many a genre...
If you show up at the shows free CD's are almost always available.
Thanks... - Sat, 21 Sep 2002 5:30pm
Some dude Hey, congrats to you guys. I've always enjoyed your performances. You definitely have some of the best live tone I've heard... - Sat, 21 Sep 2002 5:53pm

well, I'm certainly not the biggest fan o that rag either but having yer face plastered internationally in a prominent publication...well, It's sorta bizzare and worthy of note. Not like anything will come of it..just kinda crazy. Shameless self promotion; I am the first to admit it!
Oh yeah.."the taller the hair, the closer to god" pal...(!)

RSBF congrats on all the recent exposure!!! i guess when you've got it, you've got it for life.... i think you're proving that now. from Shovlhed to Pacific Frontal System, doesn't seem to matter what genre you're playing, you get noticed for what you're producing up there in a live environment. that's gotta say something not to mention if you go on the 'old board', put 'Chris Buck' into the message search comes up with oh, more than a few people mentioning your name as one of the best bassists in this town.

ha ha ha ha, looks like you've got a jealous follower on here too Chris! wicked! - Sun, 22 Sep 2002 4:09pm

NIce to see the local boys making good. It's about fucking time Chris, you deserve it. Hey is Dan playing drums for you guys? I saw him a while ago and he mentioned that he was playing, and I thought that he said it was with you fellas. That guy inspired me to actually learn how to play the drums, pretty fucking amazing. Anyway, good luck to you man, I think it's pretty cool hearing your name again in the music scene. - Sun, 22 Sep 2002 10:24pm

I'm happy for you guys too Chris. I enjoy your shows when I'm in the mood for some high grade dub riddims. Egg Head's the shit! Awesome. You guys have a good vibe and a lot of talent. I'm looking forward to your two shows on September 27/02 and October 4/02. And I'll have to take you up on the jamming idea in the future too!

Damn, that is one sweet set-up Morrison. I must admit to being a wee envious(!) I use an M2000 as well and with my two EB-MM HD212 cabs and trusty DBX subharmonic synthesiser....I can literally make the earth move; watch out! 16x10" speakers would quite possibly stand me up tho'!
Dane: Thanks pal? FriedEgghhead has added a whole new spin to our liver performances..check one out if you can for some twisted psycho-acoustic manipulation? Iam will no longer be with us after October unfortunetly so if you haooen to hear of any other multi-instrumental types hip to the style....? Please keep us in mind. - Tue, 24 Sep 2002 11:58pm
