shboom User Info... | Is there anyone else out there who's just a little fed up seeing Martin's Tempo Trend Ad for his "jungle drums" at the top of the Musical Instruments category each and every f**king day. Enough already Martin, nobody wants to buy your shit. The guy's got them listed at $95 and has probably spent well over $400 advertising them (a cost he can write off of course, as a business expense.) Okay...that's my rant for today... - Mon, 27 Jun 2011 8:23pm Edited: Mon, 27 Jun 2011 8:25pm
bkp User Info... | Haven't been to Tempo Trends in years... not since it ceased to be the only place in town to get strings on a Sunday. Surprised it's still even in business. - Wed, 29 Jun 2011 11:48am
Anonymous User Info... | i did a job for that guy.....it took him months to pay..we had to go get in his face at the store....cheap bugger,,,, - Thu, 30 Jun 2011 2:10pm
Zedius User Info... | Personally, I love tempo trend. They've got a fabulous museum in the back. I had a crappy sequencer I bought from some pawn shop and tempo trend had floppy disks for it! Easier/cheaper than hitting up ebay. - Wed, 17 Aug 2011 8:15am
Hoffa User Info... | Well this is an interesting discussion. Martin... DB for sure. Everyone has a story about him. Frankly I am surprised someone has had a successful transaction with him. Good for you if you are happy. I haven't been there in over a decade for good reason. As for the remark about him writing off his jungle drum advertising I set have to set the record straight. UsedVictoria.com is FREE, you can manipulate it so that your ad keeps appearing as new. Secondly "writing off" something doesn't mean you get something for free. As a business owner own can "write off" a legitimate business expense. This only means that your are exempt from paying business taxes equal to the money you spent on that business expense up to a certain percentage of said item's price. - Fri, 26 Aug 2011 2:57pm
steve User Info... | ... the ad that appears top of the list and is highlighted in yellow is a paid ad. 7.95 a month or something. and your explanation of tax laws doesn't seem to line up to what I understand. my business claims 75% of my fuel receipts/car maintenance against my businesses income, not just the tax paid on that. And 100% of other business expense, computers, advertising, office rent and supplies etc.. The HST I paid throughout the year on those business expenses gets claimed against the HST I have collected through the year and have to give to the Government.. like I said.. this is just how I understand it and I could be totally wrong as I am not my own accountant.. for good reason. - Sat, 27 Aug 2011 7:02pm
